Very very nice meet and pics.

Is that a car show? they have some outdoor vendors there :)

Surprised there's only one Artic blue and milano red. I guess the red is pretty much rare worldwide.

Tons of bling in all the cars there. but guess its a given, if you can afford a car there, you ought to have some money to get nice mods as well....

Would love to goto a meet when im in HK....

Thanks for sharing again superx....

We went there because a local car magazine need shooting pictures, they will write up an article about Accord in the coming issue. Most of the members are welling to spend a lot on their car LOL.

About the carbing tower bar, they are new released products, actually they do have rear bumper struct bar (sorry I don't know which correct wording I should use), they do have left and right chassic struct bar. They are all new products, even Carbing still haven't put them in their website yet.

About the Spoon ECU...they are for CL7-R only

the cusco coilovers, also new release item, they are 5 way adjustable and also they have optional parts, something like EDFC, you can adjust the ride comfort inside the car. The coilover price is just about the same as Tein Mono Flex or Spoon coilover (they are made by RG "Race Gear")

Suppose we should have more cars come to meet, but setting a gathering is not easy, need to do planning and setup the date about a month ago.

Wish you guys enjoy all the photos 1blue1.gif

@Benz .... i dunno about the TSX, but the CL7R has a single (1 pot) brake caliper. This basically means its not that great, especially during hardbraking with heavy lateral movement. the OEM setup is much improved by using upgraded pads to remove heat fade (like endless CCA or CCX). but at the end of the day, if agressive driving is ur style, then BBK is defo a must have. The CL7R can fit a DC5 Brembo BBK, so many ppl choose this method of upgrade (to go 2nd hand - assuming your rim offset is ok).

The amount of confidence u get at high speeds with a BBK is what makes u come out on top!!! ...

Not to mention the bling factor ;-) .... hehehe

Regarding the oil cap .... tons of places sell oil caps!!! they all look the same actually (for the various brands).

Nope!
Feel's is 61,000 ¥
Their Aluminium one (I presume) is 16,000 ¥
The Carbing one is 41,000 ¥ - 2/3rds the price of the CF one, and for obvious reasons.

I have done some research regarding the DC5 BBK on TSX, however, I do not know what else is needed other than the BigBrake Disc and caliper itself. Only Brembo and Rotora sells offical BBK for TSX.

Anyone knows what extra part are needed for using DC5 BBK?

Wow, I thought the CL7R has a 2 pot brake system. I am not even sure about the TSX, but people have told me it's a 2pot. BUt you are right, I feel unsafe sometimes with my brakes, if I only have enough money to go BBK :smash: . BUt I heard from people, they said the DC5R brembo kit onf the CL7/9 is not much of an upgrade, more of a cosemtics upgrade. Maybe with very mininal improvment.

And in HK, I saw MANY fake Mugen oil caps. Don't even know where to find some real ones. I already have 2 oil caps, but the FEELS one, I like beacuse it's different and match my struct bar, haha.

From what I heard, it's a basic bolt on. As long as you acquired the required parts, you can just do a straight bolt on. My friend was selling his, maybe I should've bolted on my car and gave a review. But...I was too lazy, hahaha

Can't. He sold his kit a while ago. He gave me a very good price on it (below 1k) and it has ENdless pads on them too. But, they looked abused from tracking, and, I rather go with something bigger and more of an upgrade.

Our TSX stock is a 1pot brake system. I saw that when I swapped the brake pad. However, the size is definity bigger than those 4 pot system, guess it just not as responsive and effective.

maybe you guys in NJ should come down to MD for a meet cause we normally have like 15 cars or so. and if you bring like 10 and I know 5 guys from PA that would come. 30 would be a lot for this area. Only place that could compete with the HK meet would be cali in my opinion if they had a state wide meet.

The DC5 Brembo BBK is defo not just a "cosmetic" upgrade. It is a very solid 4 pot BBK.

What you need for your TSX is nothing more than the standard DC5 kit, + braided brake lines. It will fit with Wed Sport SA90 rim with a 5mm spacer. If you are running something like my 57F rims, then you will need long rotor bolts (cheapo stuff, maybe around 3-5 USD a piece x 5 pieces per rotor) + 10mm spacer.

All I can say, (i've tried it many times on my friends car), the DC5 brembo kit, brings your car to where it should be in terms of braking. It gives me 10x more confidence, and it is 10x more linear and powerful (ok ... its a subjective thing ... but u get my point).

It is, the best upgrade option you can go for at this price. Alternatively, you can go for the endless 6 pot BKK that includes everything you need (including braided brake lines and pads), only a 5mm spacer needed if on 57F rim. However, the cost is more like 2500 USD (compared with your 1500 USD). It looks bad aaassss, but for me, its brembo all the way.

The magazine is "Option Fans".

We wish to get a set of Endless 6 pot @ $2500US thou :jester: add another $1000 will do it here.

1 thing I don't get. Why you always mention "need spacer"? A set of right offset rims will eliminate the need of spacer ? Yes/No?

bernardtamhk
04-17-2007, 12:41 AM
Yes. You got that right .. the key word being "right offset".

It is very difficult to get a good set of rims (good set meaning name brand, good quality, light weight, @ 7.5J or 8J < as the price of tires outweigh the price as you go wider).

If you have a set of rims with 33mm offset, and its 7.5J and its able to clear your wheel well. Then you are ok!!!!

For Rays or common japanese brands, it is nearly impossible to get the above rim at reasonable prices ... i'm sure for other brands it is possible, but then 2nd tier rim makers cannot achieve the light weight requirements (usually ending up with a 20+ lb rim ... which is too heavy for most ppl's taste in HK).

selecting rims and offsets that fits BBK and wheel wells is like shooting a moving target, especially in HK, its nearly impossible to get the shop to let you "try" the offset. They just dont let you, or maybe there aint one in stock for u to test (all ordered upon sale).

I am sure its very stable on highway, but not cornering! cornering are not senstive enough. wel... I play the "look" rather than "performance"

its still not run-in yet, so its still at the soft setting. So I can't comment on the stiffness, but as it stands right now (setting 2), it is a bit too soft for me. I am hoping on setting 4, it will be perfect :-D .....

I like it so far, cos the rebound good and linear. I cannot believe the spring rates though, cos I totally do not feel its 14K and 8K. That may also imply to me that the rebound is set very well, as my previous set of TRD on my IS, was more "bouncy" even though the spring rates were significantly lower (10k and 8k i think, can't remember).

I will tell more, once I run it in, and set it properly with testing. You can try it out if you want if we get a chance to meet ;-).

Benardtamhk and Superx, do you guys know which month this magazine gonna be issue, this is a "MUST" item for TSX/Accord fans!

Does one of the Accord in the previous pics have a racing fuel tank in the car? Is it illegal?

Finally, do you guys know where I can get good deals for the Wedsport SA70? I went to SuperGT and they quoted me 2400HKD/rim, but the distrubitor sells it for 1800HKD/rim, do you guys are anywhere cheaper? Do they have good reputition? I wanted this set really bad, planning to pick it out this summer when I head back, not many ppl sells it here(even they do, the price is sky high), and where can I get good deals for Teins coilovers too, I got a set of SS-P but changing my mine to Tein CS, so any idea I can get good deal?

Thanks!

It is the current issue, which should be April. I'll check when I am back in HK end of the week.

And you are rite about the racing fuel tank. It is not legal. The reason they had that, is because that is a track car you are looking at. Its not a street legal car, it was just on show at the event.

For the SA-70, $2400 HKD per rim is expensive. $1700-1800 is the street price. Any rim shop should be able to give you that price. When u come back, I will tell you the name of the shop to go to.

As for coilovers, TEIN is distributed by GPmotors. So basically, the cheapest place will be from there. But it can be quite "seasonal" depending on the mood of the owner. No sure about CS (didnt know they had one for CL7), but mono-flex is going for around $9500 HKD. So CS should be around the same price. But word of advice, they dont always have stock. So you may have to wait 2 to 4 weeks before the order comes thru.

I would say it varies on different items, some stuff they are actually cheaper, like the Mugen grill, I got it for 2100HKD where everywhere else are selling 2400-2500. Their customer service isn't that great but the stuff are cheap!

bernardtamhk

superGT is not a rim vendor, hence they will always charge more than the tire/rim shops.

Your best bet is to go to one of the rim shops that I can provide you with, and you are guaranteed to be able to get it for around 1700-1800 per rim (17" btw) ....

tein SS is not so much tuned for performance. the pillowball mount just makes it loud. CS is as the name says comfort spec. It indeed is smooth, and quiet (as it uses a urathane covered mount i think!?) ... but again, its not tuned for performance.

What are you looking for, in terms of the suspension characteristics?

I want a sporty feel compare with stock, no hardcore street driving, coz mine is a 5AT and I am not that spirited driver, I want to get more tight during cornering and I already got Cusco front strut, lower brace 1 and Progress 22mm swaybay which is gonna put on next week or so, and getting new tires and rims too. Coz I am gonna do some highway+city driving, so I dun want a really bouncy ride as my place snows 6 months a yr. That's why I am still debating TeinSS or TeinCS as I can't decide..............

In that case, TeinCS is your choice. Tein SS will be slightly stiffer than stock, but the problem is, the rebound of Tein SS is not set very well. So basically, what happens when you drive fast over high speed bumps is that you will feel the tail to be jumpy. In teinCS, this is slightly improved, however this jumpiness is characteristic in most Tein suspension kits with the exception of RS and RA.

Regarding the Brembo BBK ... i very rarely buy from car8 posts. Thats cos as I have access to discounts via my buddy who gets dealer prices. I also get 2nd hand stuff direct from japan, who does autoparts importing from japan.

But as BU mention, I dun think u can hand carry a rim after the security alert. If you go with someone, u can box 2 rims as 1 luggage and send 2 luggage. but remember not to take AirCanada since they changed the buggage weight as 22kg, Cathay still 32kg, haha

Wish you guys enjoy all the photos 1blue1.gif

hi,

i would to find out more info on the spoon ecu ???

1) the blinking immobliser, does that mean the it's totally disabled ??
2) the ecu mapping is base on stock setup, like stock engine internals, stock airbox & exhaust??
3) what's the redline & VTEC rpm?

bernardtamhk
04-23-2007, 12:44 PM
1) Yes, you lose the original immobilizer.
2) No. It make the most of it, you should at least have an intake and exhaust. The stock system is way too restrictive.
3) No change in vtec engagement point, as it is controlled by the vt mechanism mechanically. By redline, I am assuming you are asking the ceiling of the redline which you can rev? Basically, you can rev up to around 9200rpm.

Well, that guys never dynoed his car, so their is no clear evidence of significant power gains. But, the RBC provides better air flow so I'm sure there would be some gains. As far as downfalls, I really don't see any.

SuperX will correct me if i'm wrong ....

but if im correct, you wont be able to get a set in time.

Both Spoon & cusco are hot items at the moment, and for sure you will have to order and wait for shipment from japan. That will take maybe 4 weeks min.

Last batch of orders, only 2 sets of spoon and 2 sets of cuscos were shipped to the hk distro ... and as they are new items, it wont be very cheap either.

Good luck in ur search tho!

but if im correct, you wont be able to get a set in time.

Thanks benardtamhk for the informations! Actually there's a Tein flex coilover in Vancouver that i was waiting the owner to take it out! But since I was in HK, just want to take some special parts like spoon coilover, caze not much ppls in Canada usin this brand... or maybe can u give me some suggestions of wat should I bring from HK? Thanz!

Off Topic...I saw like 5 peace signs in those pics. What is with that? Japan and HK loves the peace sign for some reason.

Thanks again to bernardtamhk! I don't think I'll need the visors, exhaust, etc... I got it installed... I'll probably go for the Generic Stuff... Where should I get this stuffs in HK?? SuperGT?? or maybe have a better store?

for generic stuff, SuperGT is the cheapest, as long as you can look and speak like a local.
