Hello all.

I am selling my Archos AV500 along with all the equipment/documents it came with when I bought it. I bought it a little less than 6 months ago new, and honestly I used it no more than 3 hours a week. The unit is in perfect working condition as well as mint physical condition ( I bought a screen protector for it AND it came with leather carrying case/kickstand when I bought it so it's SCRATCH FREE ). The audio quality is amazing, better than any IPOD, you can read the CNET review. Screensize = 4 inches Widescreen LCD, can provide HD playback.

Yes, it is a digital recorder, it records TV/DVD onto it's hard drive, which is why it can record HD and playback HD.

No, the hard drive is internal to the Archos AV500 unit. The round thing is just to convert analog signal to digital during recording Or digital-analog during playback. Video can be viewed on the unit's screen OR you can play it on your bigscreen tv for better results ;)

holy, i forgot about this feature.

the archos can used as a USB host, that means you can transfer pics directly from your camera onto the archos HD (and then you can browse them from there). you can do this just using the camera, the usb cable, and the archos, NO PC NEEDED!

i'm not quite sure about it but by looking at how it's made, i don't think it's easy to swap a larger HDD. i know there are other versions of the av500 like the 100gb and 160gb version.
