Thats the Rear right... that is the E-brake, what your gonna do is get the fattest Straight screwdriver you have, and stick it in the + groove thats in that piece... then your gonna rotate it untill its out of your way enough to put the brake pads back in...
When you get in the car and your all said and done, pull the E-brake up and down a bunch of times, that will allow that piston to go back out enough to grip.... make sure the E-brakes down when your are spinning it....
Also when your gonna pump your brakes back up when your done, DO NOT push the brakes all the way to the floor, instead just tap it the normal amount, and do that several times... its a trick of the trade, that not too many people know about, but it puts less stress on the pistons then otherwise...

Sorry I didnt look close enough, my mistake... hmm mine didnt do that when I changed the brakes, my best guess would be that you didnt open the piston far enough, or that it recompressed... open the bleader for and try to clamp that part back in, you wont loose enough brake fluid to cause a problem, and your better off ditching the old fluid rather then pushing it back up once you open them.
What I do personally is I open the bleader slightly then I just use a big ass screwdriver to pry open the caliper, then after I let a quick squirt or two out, I close the bleader, and open the Caliper as you did above...

Also make things easier on your self... Go Pick up a Hydraulic Jack!!!

Yep good tools are an essential... will cost some more compared to Wallmart Prices, but Sears is good too, and they allow for returns when things break

Go buy a C-Clamp from Home Depot. That is the piston that needs to be pushed back. I used a C-Clamp when I changed my rotors and brakes. Make sure after you have installed the new brake pads that you pump the brake pedal several times until it is stiff again or you won't be able to stop very well.
