If you can make it look good then i don't think so. Also, i wanted new wheels / tires but still had atleast a summers worth of tread left in these tires, hence i did not want to purchase new ones, these are merely a cheap yet in my opinion effective mod for in between.
And when another member painted his stock rims gunmetal i did not see any objections... i could be wrong.

How so? I chose not to spend thousands of dollars on new mag and decided to "renew" my mags my self, this is simply another DIY, if i were to open up my headlights, somehow clear the amber reflectors to mimic the jdm ones would that be ridiculed as well?

I think it looks pretty nice.. but it would look even better if it was flush with the fender..

+1.
I would just sell the stock rims/tires and contribute to my new set, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea in case you need to sell the car.

well in my opinion painting them white is what makes them look cheap. no I dont hate all white wheels but I think the OEM tsx wheels in white look cheap. I think gunmetal looks ten times better on the OEM wheels.

I have say that looks pretty hot.
Like what whitetsx001 said, it would be better if the rims were flush with the fenders it would look a whole lot better.
Get some colored lugs to match ur painted calipers.

Thanks guys, when you say flush with the fenders you mean the camber or the drop?

hmm, I think they mean flush with the fenders a bit more, however thats currently close to what my car looks like, im running her on the negative side for the performance benifits

I will look into it but i am still a bit confused on what you guys think the wheels should be flush with. Are you speaking with respect to the offset? Ride Height? or Camber?
Thanks.

plus with the fenders. with stock wheels a nice set of 15mm spacers would do great.

i like the white wheels myself. think it all blends nicely. good job. Just remember, its your ride. But when u post pics ur opening yourself up to both negative and positive critiscm. But in the long run, u drive it, u own it. Its your decisions. Everyones taste is diffrent. anyways nice job man.

Quoted for truth. If you like it - then great. Looks better than stock wheels in my opinion. I had white wheels back in the day and grew tired of the look.

kudos for the honesty ;)
How much you paid for the paint job ?
MTL-TSX

Did it my self. though i did do some tests but the cans of paint were around 8$CDN and i used about 3 -4 of those plus a can of clear. So total cost was around 40-50 bucks. Only thing is required is some good sanding.
Initially i DID want to paint them gunmetal, so i painted one wheel white and one gunmetal to see which i liked, in the end, the gun mental looked nice but the white on white looked much nicer.

Wow...you serious? DIY? That work looks pretty amazing.
As for what we meant for the rims being flush, if the rims are in line with the wheelwells. Right now they look like they are sunk into the car. You cant do much about it unless you add spacers. But its still good.

To add to that.. ur wheels/rims look exactly like mine and I think it makes the wheels/tires look smaller.. if they are in line with the wheel wells itll look bigger and give it a cleaner look.
