Well it was a long winter here in Minnesota, but Spring/Summer is here, and that meant it was time for a major detail... with that I turned to Greg from Pinnacle-detailing.com here in Minnesota to have him work his magic and bring my NBP paint back to it's peak!

This process took 8hrs... including carpet shampoo, full interior detail, and engine clean and dress.

Z7 Wash
Z18 clay
HTEC/OPT polish @ 1500 rpm
Blackfire SRC , pc @ 6
ZAIO
Z5pro
Z-CS

Z16 on tires and wheels
ZPC and steel wool on exhaust

The pics don't give you the full effect of the blue sparkle, it is truly unreal. If you stand next to my car and look at it in the sun, all you see is the Blue Flake, it looks truly amazing.

Enjoy!

Have you ever taken you're car to an automatic carwash? One with brushes that actually touch the car?

I tell you, it only takes one trip to give the NBP TSX swirls etc. When I first got it, I thought it would be ok, because this car wash place actually looked decent, anyway, I got scratchs/swirls right away. I beleive the acura clearcoat is so soft, it is very easy to swirl/scratch.

Anyway, I had a process similar to what I posted today done last august, the car looked great and lasted for months, but during winter I couldn't hand wash, and went to the automatic car wash again, and after that first trip back, swirls/light scratching was back.

Moral of the story. Next winter, What I'm going to do is just go to the "touchless car wash's" at gas stations etc. Where nothing but water touchs your car. Again, this is far from ideal, but the WORST possible thing is going where they have the big foam pads etc flapping against the paint, it is very destructive. I know even the touchless might lead to some minor swirling etc, but that would be easily corrected come spring.

Anyway, what you need to do, regardless of how you got the swirls, is get if professionaly polished/buffed. If you've never done it, you probably should practice on a junk car or something, whatever you do, don't use the rotary machine unless you absolutley know what you are doing. The orbital machine is much less abrasive, but a rotary if you go to hard etc, you can go through the clear coat etc. Anyway, find somebody professional who is expereinced in buffing, and talk to them about it. I guarantee your car can look better than you ever imagined, and swirl free, it just takes time and $$

I used a rotary! and a very mild polish followed by a wax. Had sliight swirls still.

I usually wash my car myself, 2 bucks, lots of soap, all the good stuff, but when im feeling lazy, hand cashwash is the only place to go.

nice car man!
