I was lokking into hondata and I called a place that does it and they said 595 for the replace plus 170 transport fee to take the car to hondata. Is there anyway I can just drive the car up to hondata and get it done there and save the 170 dollars? I tried searching but got nothing.

Try to contact Epic motoring. I don't believe they charge you a "transport fee".

Where did you get that quote from?

Wow, Kevin and Epic Motoring are known here too. He did work on my old 98 accord and did a good job. If I decide to do a reflash, I'd probably go to him too.

What is the total cost of Hondata being installed from Epic Motoring? I would rather find out how much you guys paid compared to asking them for a quote and not knowing if I really want it yet.

Last time I heard, epic charges $595 flat (if you pay cash). They add more if you use another form of payment.

One person said he got a discount for waiting *shrugs*...maybe they ran into a problem.

If you decide to go with epic, let me know...I'll go do it at the same time with you lol

if you pay cash it's 595, or else he needs to put on tax which comes out to 640...

I got a discount cuz he was doing some cam work on somebody else's car, and I had to wait for one of his employees to come back to take my car over to hondata, and he gave me some magazines to read why I just checked out the whole shop...he was a young, cool cat

I got a 25 discount (he offered) just for waiting a little bit...it was a great experience

btw, church automotive shares the same building as Epic Motoring...it's the same place...really close to hondata

personally I think 595 is already a bargain for the gains...but I was just lucky enough to get a discount :o

i definitely have $595 set aside for sure for hondata if you guys are willing to all roll together. could be a fun meet and way to meet each other.. :blush:

msm_ching...i think it only takes an hour or so. They have to drive your car over to hondata, then they plug their computer in (no need to remove your ecu), reprogram the ecu, then test drive the car on the way back...

I have to get the reflash fast.. like.. as fast as i can. Just in case i change my mind.@@

HMMMMM. I just called the one in Alhambra. They said if i get it in on monday, i have to wait till the next day to get my car. THAT's a problem already. @@

All hondata dealers have to send your ecu to hondata. Usually they'll send you a package for you to send your ecu directly to hondata.

The difference with epic is that they are located 10 minutes away from hondata. They just drive your car over, use a cable to interface with your ecu, reprogram it, and then drive it back to you. There's no need to remove the ecu from your car. If you really need the reflash done fast, you need to do it at epic...it should only take an hour or two depending on how busy they are.

The dealer would have to prove the pulleys are the cause of the problem.

I am still under warranty and go the dealer when need be.

Did this thing fall through? I wonder if epic would do same-day appointments lol...i want to do it really soon, but tomorrow's my only day off during the week for the next couple of weeks
