SRI or CAI based?
Judging by the mention of 'box', one presumes the latter.

It is a cold air. they have a duct for the air to come in at the front of the bumper. In a way its a differnt design. The air gets picked up infront of the car, where as a cold air intake the air comes from the bottom of the car. This intake has a similar design to the mugen one. Or if you guys have seen the J's intake for the s2000 its similar to that.

Is the intake made out of carbon fibre or anything special? $700 is cheaper than Mugen but still.....
Anyone interest on my Injen CAI????

great to hear. the only reason i thought there was no j's racing being made for the tsx was because i e-mailed someone at aj-racing and they told me there was no intake in production.. :P

We were told by J's that it was under development for the longest time, someone here said that they emailed J's and was told there wasnt gonna be one made.

From what i can tell you so far is the torque is much better the low end feels like there is more power, but than again i cant give you an exact number until we can get this on the Dyno.
Thanks

This intake definetly looks to be function over form, I like the idea of pulling the cold air from the front of the bumper but damn is the air box huge.

i can't afford this right now. but i'd definately like to see pics of the setup. that airbox looks like a monster compared to the comptech or mugen airboxes.

isn't this design going to increase the chance of hydrolock?

I believe that's why they state that it's made for their race car. Performance A++++ 1blue1.gif

isn't this design going to increase the chance of hydrolock?
No, Hydrolock will occur when liquid fills a cylinder on the intake stroke. Therefore even if its raining the amount of water it takes in is not gonna damage your engine. The chances of a CAI that picks up air from the bottom of the car has a MUCH bigger chance of hydrolock. You would need to be revving your engine with the whole filter under water for anything to happen. I live in vancouver and I have driven S2000 with that desgin of intake in a storm and its still fine. There is not alot to be worried about. I have also had a CAI on my car and driven in the stormy conditions and it was fine. IMO there is nothing to be worried about.
Thanks

how does it sound??? hehe is it loud like a injen cai?
This would put down a better performance ratio vs. Mugen without a doubt. J's Racing may be late to the party, however they always have good reason to come up with a better R&D product in the end.
In parallel comparison, the J's Racing Tsuchinoko Chamber Intake for the AP1/2 is a higher rated product vs. Mugen on performance and price.
One of the key PROs of this product is improved torque from the large air intake chamber, and a consistent power delivery increase all the way to redline. This is in effect putting the best of CAI + SRI combined but not have the lack of low end torque from the CAI or the heat soak from the SRI. You also don't have the loud intake CAI suction noise that not all owners like.

I have to say I dont know follow how this intake could be better at all really. I mean there is no tube directly airflow flow down behind the bumper up into through the to the filter. the mugen has a pipe to do this. I mean I think this is more efficent than the gruppe-m design but right now I think the mugen probably is still more efficent. There is only a panel blocking hot air from the engine. even the gruppe-m has a better heat shield design that meets with muliple spots on the engine bay to almost create a seal.

Sounds good...VTECH finally sounds like what it should.. Actually sounds like a damn built B-Series to be honest with u..lol. As far as Visual and all that it really depends where u take it...Im not to worried about smog and all that as it's a new car so that wont come up for a few years. You can deffinetly feel the mid to top end difference. I'm still debating on putting on the GOLD baller J's badge on the intake.... It would just be a sign for cops to FCUK with you out here and send u to BAR just because they simply don't know what the heel they're looking at. :woot: :woot:
