got a question about the oil change meter on my 07 TSX

i got my first oil change on my 07 tsx at 3900 i used Q full syn oil... im now at 8336 and my oil life meter is at 10% i thought that full syn oil is good till 10 k miles or is oil life meter just a timer?

i'm pretty sure it's mostly a timer. i got an oil change at firestone and the meter still read 10%. i just reset the meter myself.

maybe it takes into account your driving habits, avg. speed, avg length of car trip, temperatures, etc... who knows. maybe someone else here can help us out.

synthetic oil doesnt mean you change your oil later. whether you use regular or synthetic, the time frame is always the same.

the tsx's oil meter is pretty good, just follow it. change the oil when it hits 5%. usually ever 5000-5600 miles for me so far. from what i understand, it takes into account whats mentioned above, temp, speed, miles, etc.
