This probably won't be an interesting post, but I made the mistake of making Memorial Day my first day back at work so I've got to kill time somehow ;) So I checked my voicemail for the first time in 2.5 weeks and there was a message last week from the body shop that is repairing my car. The message stated that all of the parts just arrived and that they would begin repairing the rear quarter this week, painting next week, and assembling the week after. Speedy, ain't it? The car was hit a month ago :hmmph:
So it looks like I'll have plenty of time in my new rental, a Mazda3 that I picked up yesterday. I'm glad I waited until now to get the rental, since I only have 30 days time that the insurance company will pay for. I was driving my parents' beater, a MT Neon with a broken AC system, for the two weeks after the car was hit (they don't use it). I'll be sure to share my thoughts about the Mazda after I've spent some time with it, but so far I've been pretty impressed for such an inexpensive car. It's certainly no TSX in terms of refinement, but it handles well and is a better car than a Civic, IMO. Honda needs to get on the ball and revise their small car since the competition has passed them (OTOH, I rented a Mazda3 so Mazda is trying to inflate sales already).
