This probably won't be an interesting post, but I made the mistake of making Memorial Day my first day back at work so I've got to kill time somehow ;) So I checked my voicemail for the first time in 2.5 weeks and there was a message last week from the body shop that is repairing my car. The message stated that all of the parts just arrived and that they would begin repairing the rear quarter this week, painting next week, and assembling the week after. Speedy, ain't it? The car was hit a month ago :hmmph:

So it looks like I'll have plenty of time in my new rental, a Mazda3 that I picked up yesterday. I'm glad I waited until now to get the rental, since I only have 30 days time that the insurance company will pay for. I was driving my parents' beater, a MT Neon with a broken AC system, for the two weeks after the car was hit (they don't use it). I'll be sure to share my thoughts about the Mazda after I've spent some time with it, but so far I've been pretty impressed for such an inexpensive car. It's certainly no TSX in terms of refinement, but it handles well and is a better car than a Civic, IMO. Honda needs to get on the ball and revise their small car since the competition has passed them (OTOH, I rented a Mazda3 so Mazda is trying to inflate sales already).

What happened? Where you live in GA?
I didn't mean to mislead you... I live in NJ near Philly, but I lived in NC and VA recently for a couple of years and I know how hot cars can get in the sun 'down there'.

Personally, I've always though that a black car with a tan interior is as sexy as they get, so it was an easy decision for me anyway. I can see the appeal in the black interior also - the look is more sporty vs the more luxurious, warmer one that comes with the wood/parchment interior.

BTW, that avatar is funny! :)

Thanks, though I think this comment is funny considering your own avatar ;) (j/k... partially ;) )

Thanks for the encouragement Joker. I am still wafting and waning about whether to keep it or not once it's returned. Maybe I should start a poll...

Actually, I still owe about 23K on it (only put $2600 down at ~4%), so I would probably take a BIG loss on trade-in, methinks.

JCG, who is working very hard today

Yeah, I misread that other post. Then saw your wreck photos with a Jersey plate on your TSX and said wait he's not in GA. Doh! :) Don't work too hard today! ;)
