Hello,

Well, I guess this is my OWN fault, but anyway's, I took my car to a car wash today to get it washed. Anyway's, at this car wash they use a blue marker which they use to write on your windshield which wash you're getting. In doing so, the moron managed to get some marker on my A-Pillar. I have an 07 CGP silver/ebony interior. I am not sure what to use on the pillar to remove the marker. There is a fabric, so I am not sure if something like a carpet stain remover or something would suffice... Any suggestions? And yes, this is the LAST time I go to a full service car wash!!!

lol yes, this has nothing to do with you, take it back and demand that they remove it.
(you might get a free wash)

Yeah, I'd have the car wash take a stab at it. That way, if it bleeds and makes things worse, they'll be obligated to replace it or something

I got to a full service wash and they're not stupid enough to use a MARKER! They actually give you a receipt or tag! I hope you go to a reputable place for your car washes next time because the place I go to usually washes a lot of Bentleys, Ferraris, Porsches, etc and you know daym well they won't mess up any of those cars with a MARKER! hehe

So yeah, get a free wash and never go to that place ever again! Find a place where they actuallly take care of your car the way you do!

GOOD LUCK!

I still don't understand why a place would USE markers?!!? I think that was a MAJOR red flag NOT to go to that place! hahahaahhaa

Hey guys,

I took the car back. The owner came out and took a look. He grabbed one of their clean damp drying towels, and sprayed some green stuff into the towel (simple green maybe)? Anyway's, he scrubbed it for about 5 minutes. He was able to remove all of it, but I was thinking that would be an expensive repair for him if he couldn't. I'm pretty sure there is an air bag behind there.

no, the marker is fine. there are special markers MADE to write on cars. teh body shop we use for our business, writes all over the car. the marker comes right out, its made not to stain. there are lots of car washes, body shops, etc that use those markers. its not like a sharpie, but specifically marketed for writing on vehicles, and not damaging paint.

^^^^^ you must've underestimated my knowledge of markers! hahahahaha I know it wasn't used with a sharpie and I'm very well aware of those markers because I used to have friends that ran on tracks with their cars and would post their times on their windshields. I just think it's just weird to use that at a car wash knowing it might accidently get on the cars interior or what not. That's all! :grinno:

And obviously it DID stain because homie had to return his car to get it out! hahahahaha :p

shay, by full service...do they do everything by hand? Or do they still use those spinning things to scrub your car?

I would recommend buffing the area where someone scrubbed for 5 MINUTES ON YOUR PAINT. Glad to hear that the marker was removed, but sometimes cleaning up yourself after someones mistake can be a good thing. Look at it like this, if some jackass screwed up an oil change, would you go back and insist he fix it? Or simply realize that if a person can't do something simple right the first time you shouldn't expect them to do the task right and fix a mistake.

Just my 2 pennies.

Good point! However, it wasn't the owner that screwed it up, it was some dumb punk a$$ high schooler that did it. Needless to say, I've learned my lesson, and it will be the LAST time I go to a car wash like that.

Yessss....I don't pay 30 bucks a wash for them to use some spinning things! hahahahaha I'm pretty sure I'm paying for labor! But they do SUCH a good job! I've been to other full service car wash spots and they don't do as good of a job as this place! So, I tend to go to this place whenever my car needs pampering! hehe :grinno:
