So I have searching and searching and still haven't been able to find any information on it. Is there a way to enable the door locks so once you reach a certain speed they automatically lock? My dad has owned his car for more than a year and a half and he always wonder if that can be turned on. Anyone out ever tried to enable this feature? Thanks for your help.

It is weird. In the 7 Series Bimmers, I remember the doors automatically lock when you drive above a certain speed.

Easiest way is to find a gf and tell her to press the LOCK button everytime you get into the car.

lol, that freakin hilarious because thats a perfect description of my wife. gets in the car, puts on her seatbelt, and hits the locks!

I have a after market remote start system and my doors lock as soon as the car hits 3000 rpms.

right, some manufacturers provide a feature that locks the doors when the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd gear. Our cars don't have that. You can install an aftermarket module that would have to integrate with the on-board computer, but it's not worth the money just for the locking option alone.

hahaha funny, I'm so anal about locking doors! I always make sure the doors are locked when I'm in it! I get freaked out when people don't lock their doors! :p

My 04 IS300 has that standard. You can either set it to lock automatically once you hit a certain speed or once you shift from park to reverse or drive.

This can be easily accomplished by purchasing 2 modules from this company:

http://www.kptechnologies.com/

You will need the Auto Lock/Unlock module and the Programmable Speed Switch Module.
