Hey with like an Eibach 1.6/1.4 drop can you still use the stock struts or should you run an aftermarket strut with that much drop. Is anyone running that much of a drop with stock struts. Or how much better of a ride would i have with some aftermarket struts.

As Jay said, next time please try and keep your questions to one thread, that aside however...

Putting springs on the shock struts will cause premature wear and eventually failure, think of it this way, the damper compresses and rebounds in a manner that was designed to work with the stock springs, so when the damper is at rest there is lets say 6 inches (imaginary #) of travel available.... now when you put shorter and stiffer springs on the said damper, it will now sit in a permanent state of partial compression, there is only 5 inches of travel, as you'd imagine that puts a great deal of more stress on the damper, eventually causing it to blow... once the dampers blown, expect to pay 5-600$ for a new damper, which incidentally is the starting price for Tein Coilovers.

The struts will blow.

they wont blow right off the bat, but as memphis said they will go out sooner than stock for that exact reason. But, alot of times the higher spring rate coupled with stock dampers leads to a bouncy ride which can be unsafe and cause undesirable driving effects.
