Status of the first Euro-R kit groupbuy? (UPDATED)

There are quite a few of us who have yet to receive any official word for the status of the first Euro-R body kit groupbuy. Several of us have posted in the other thread asking for some kind of update(s), but have received no reply. Another member PM'd some of us informing us of a back order (What? Where was this warning when we ordered?), but that was two weeks ago. We were told late June, early July would be when the kits would be coming to us, or at the very least, in AJR's hands. It's pretty disheartening to see all kinds of other posts being updated for other products while the very first groupbuy AJR conducted is neglected. I'm not sure about the others, but I paid in full with the belief that we would be receiving our products at the mentioned time. Perhaps I should've put 50% down and paid the rest off later since the Canadian dollar has weakened a bit since then. Also, I wouldn't have made mention of this if the kits were sent, but I was charged more than I was told over the phone. I was told that it would cost me $1455 shipped and insured. Fine. I check my CC statement and I'm charged close to $1480. What's the deal AJR?

guys, i had originally pm'ed calvin asking, and he had noted some colors were backordered, so the entire order was on hold, but he was planning to email japan to check the status.

I was hoping mine (ours) would arrive late July even early August so I could have some summer time with the kit.
I still want my kit but maybe I'll wait till next Spring to install it.
Still, can't complain too much. It is a really good price for a complete kit. I don't think I could have got this price any where else.

Best we can do is just keep each other updated as much as possible.

I know how things can be when ordering from Japan.
If the order isn't placed in time then you'll miss the boat shipment and have to catch the next one. Unless it's by air.
Due to the wait to order for all colors at once this could have delayed everything.
Still happy to hear it could be here in August. Looks like I'll be installing for this season.

Hi Guys,

Here's the update status for all of you who have ordered the kit. I will have most of the kits ready to ship by first week of September. So for the ones who ordered later, that shipment will arrive at my end by end of Sept.

I am really sorry for the delay but Honda Japan didn't have all the pieces when we placed the order. So we weren't able to get them ship on time.

I would like to appreciate your patience and I will include a set of Spoon tank covers (FREE) for the ones who ordered the EuroR kit.

I've been kept up on game throughout the whole process of purchasing this kit. They've actually been pretty good about communicating with me . I think it's pretty obvious you haven't purchased anything from overseas before, its not the easiest thing in the world dealing with Japan. But hey each to his own opinion. And at the price they kicked the kit down to us, I don't think anyone should be saying SIHT..... Enjoy and slap the kit on next week whenever people recieve them. FYI, i just got a call from aj-racing, and i can confirm that and extra $50-$60 is needed to make up for the shipping costs. apparently it's coming from increased fuel costs which took place after the group buy price, so it's coming back to individual purchaser (makes sense). i wouldn't expect aj to pay anyways since it's not like it was under their control. plus, you've spent over $1000 for the kit, so at this juncture, another $60 bucks won't kill you.

i'm supposed to receive the kit sometime this or next week. tracking number is on its way via email.

they've answered all the questions we've asked them. they charged us appropriately for the group buy. they're letting us know about the extra amount needed to offset shipping costs that UPS brought on. they're throwing in free schwag for the delay.

mass shipping of oversized item across the pacific and country borders isn't the easiest thing to do.

So I went to the depot where my shipment was being held.
Turns out it was my Euro-R kit. Along with that was the Alex Change Lever Spring that I had also requested.
I'll be installing these next weekend along with my exhaust which probably arrived at the shop too.

I got my side skirts yesterday but not the front or rear parts of the kit. When the UPS guy came he told my girl that AJ Racing had charged me $37.41 for customs taxes so she had to give them a check made out to AJ Racing inorder for him to leave the side skirts. Then I called AJ Racing and told them what happened and whoever I spoke with said that he will call UPS and find out what the charge was for and get back to me. Then they told me the rest of the kit will be arriving by another carrier because UPS did not want to ship the whole kit together. Hopefully I will get a call back today and get that money refunded to me. This happen to anyone else?

yes, this just happened to me yesterday.

the side skirts came via UPS. but they asked my mother-in-law to pay the $37.41 in check to AJ-Racing as well. she had never heard of this done (asking for COD) so she tried calling me, but i was busy and missed her call. the guy said he'd come back again tomorrow, but couldn't leave the box until he got the check. so i made one out and dropped it off w/ her last night.

I recieved everything and no additional cost was needed when it was delivered. Maybe it was because they shipped such a large item to a house. I got mine shipped to my office and didn't have to pay. i just called AJ. the additional $60 we paid for shipping is totally separate from the $37.14. the former was for shipping or fuel costs, the latter is some sort of tariff fee for anyone receiving these items in the US.

i'm not sure why you didn't get charged ben. maybe your company paid the fee. lol.

I too had it shipped to a house. AJ gave me a tracking # and I told them it's not the correct one because it shows that the address it's going to is in NY and I live in NJ. They told me that it's a holding station in NY and I know it's not because it was already at a holding station in Parssipany NJ and then it left for NY. I checked the UPS website today and it said that " THE RECEIVER DID NOT HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT. A 2ND DELIVERY ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE " I have a different tracking # i got with my recpeit from them a few days ago and the UPS website shows it does not exsist. No one from AJ has gotten back to me in 2 days now and I basiclly don't know where the rest of my kit is. My girl has been home all day yesterday and today and no sign of it.

I got another invoice in the mail today from ups. $37.46 for Us Customs and Brokerage Charges for the side skirts. So I am up to $111.41 for customs. Anyone else get that much?

Also AJ i still haven't recieved the spoon covers. Did you ship them?

trying to get the rest of this kit keeps getting better and better. I have the side skirts for a long time now but I'm missing the front & rear lips. Come to find out someone at A&J qiut and never sent the rest of the kit. It finally gets shipped out on 10/3/07 and I have yet to receive it. I called purilator the service delivering the parts yesterday and ask them whats going on the parts were shipped out on 10/3/07 and I still have nothing. They tell me they have to have someone from their traking dept look into this. I get a call from them today and they tell me they are still looking for it and that the parts might be missing and if they are they will file a claim for me. WTF!!!!! This goes from someone not shipping the parts to finally getting them shipped to now they might be missing and gone. This sucks huge balls.

sorry for the troubles, man. hope for the best, prepare for the worst. try to get a paper trail for everything so you can confront the shipping place for f-ing it up. or at least get refunded or a new kit from aj.

i'm receiving threatening letters from PBB global logistics over a sum of $73.95 for the clearance of the kit shipping via airborne express/purolator courier.

i'm not sure why these costs are still an issue. i paid the full amount, i paid an additional $30-something to UPS, but now they're apparently going report to some collections agency about this, and may very well impact my credit standing.

if you could please provide some insight about this, i'd gladly appreciate it. as of now, i'm going to try and just pay the amount b/c i've only received the letter now since it was sent to my shipping address (not billing, which doesn't make any sense either by PBB). thanks.

I ended up paying for this myself. I believe that the buyer is always responsible for custom duties. please let me know if you find out something different.

ben, thanks for the info. yeah, i just had no idea where this came from as i thought i was squared away. i'm just going to pay it tomorrow.
