My family is going to HK for Christmas and I might get them to bring back some parts for me. Where are the best/cheapest places to get JDM stuff (Spoon, etc.)? I've heard of Man Auto and also apparently a lot of places around Mong Kok.
BernardTamHK, SuperX?
Thanks

man don't make your family carry back your car things (bigger than a tissue box)
that, IMO, is just lame.
And first of all, like any typical Asian parents, they don't know shit about cars. And they will likely want to bring back things their own things.
just my 2 cents.

thanks for your concern, but i'm not getting anything big, my parents are ok with it, and my parents are not stupid and can read a store address and part number

There are many shops in MongKok, but those are only general purpose parts. I can pretty much guarantee your parents wont find any specific CL7/9 parts at these stores.
Man auto is a good bet, but they are near my home in Yuen Long and quite far out for a typical HK-er if they dont have a car.
Other options are SuperGT/Top Racing/GP Motors (in kowloon bay & tai kok tsui).
But beware, if ur parents dont look like they know what they are doin with performance parts, they may get ripped off. Buying perf. parts in hk is like buy seafood ... prices vary greatly depending on the "customer".
Important note is that most parts for CL7/CL9 are not available on demand. Needs to be ordered in advance (around 3-4 weeks).
The stuff that you may be able to get without ordering is stuff like engine damper, window visors etc.
My friends car is going thru a rebuild rite now ... and his car has already been out of action for more than a month cos of waiting for parts.

well duh ! of course they're "OK" with it - that's why they're called parents ;)
My point is about being considerate and not troubling your parents
ok, ok I will mind my own f-ing business :spin:

I bought a set of project mu brake pads from SuperGT 2 years ago for a good price.
Their pricing was okay but their customer service was pretty bad.

SuperGT got the best deal in town, as I heard they privately deal with Japanese suppliers (aka water goods) The service is ok just that the boss is a bit "inchy".
-Bernard, you got any clue what are the market prices for the Spoon Monoblock BBK(new and used), Project Mu rotors and pads? Thanks!

none which are used on the market at the moment.
Spoon BBK is around 1700 USD. But at this price, i wouldnt go with Spoon ... the 4 pot cylinders arent big enough. At that price, u'd be better off converting a DC5-R brembo 4pot OEM BBK for CL7 use.
Project Mu I dont know, as no one uses those on CL7 in HK. too much brake dust.
u thinking of asking someone to bring it back?.. if so, ur nuts man LOL ...its heavy as shit .... like maybe 40-50lbs.

Ya, hopefully he can get me a set of Project Mu or Mugen Rotor/Pad combo. Or else I have to get Powerslot/Rotora rotors + Hawks pad. Actually I bought a set of Tein SS last summer and a set of wheels this summer and it's actually not that heavy(27kg?), just send it as a luggage. Too bad the springs are too soft. Looking to get the Flex or CS next summer.
And I also would recommend to pick up a set of Tein SS as they are wayyy cheaper than here(4900-5300) or Tein Flex (7500-8000) if you have space to fit. Cusco Strut Bars would be a good idea too!

I don't agree. The Spoon BBK is an entry-level competition caliper. While the OEM DC5 Brembo caliper is an entry-level sports caliper. Having did a side by side comparison, the Spoon BBK is superior in all aspects vs. the Brembo caliper.
If you're after the red and Brembo decal bling, sure. But if you want real Brembo, you'd need the GT Series Brembo product to better match a performance comparison vs. Spoon.
Also, the pistons on the Spoon caliper are larger than the DC5 Brembo.

assuming the oem 05 tsx and euro accord share the same rear bumper, i'm looking for the:
rear bumper, driver's side, exhaust cover.
these locations in hk supply this item?

Have fun shipping everything back from HK. You can't ship it through HK Post for sure(too big). And UPS and Fedex would be a pain to go through(shipping/custom/handling). Best bet is to special order via AJ or BPT since they order a whole container from Japan and customs/handling are all taken care of. I would only buy stuff that I can ship it as a luggage

let me clarify...
for the rear 05 oem bumper, there are 2 cut-outs for the 2 exhaust pipes. i'm looking for a cover / plug to fill the driver's side exhaust cut-out. my plan is to install a single-side exhaust.
based on your post, are you saying that no part exists, and i'd have to purchase the entire rear oem bumper that already has the driver's side exhaust cut-out covered? if so, then you're right, i'm better off buying from the vendors you mentioned.

Sorry I didn't get what you meant in the beginning, I think it might be the just the exhaust plug, but I might be wrong. You have to give them the parts no. or else it would take them forever to look up for you(it took them a weeks to find the JDM pedals parts no. lol). And I assume you are going to HK for vacation? I would recommend you to call them and order it in ahead of time since if you miss their shipment, you will be waiting for 2-3 weeks up to a month. I would do it if it's the whole bumper(too costly!!)
