Injen and K&N CAI can be converted to SRI configuration. AEM is the only one that comes in SRI config.

Good question...where is a good place to buy the Injen CAI online? I've never really seen this mentioned here & the cheaper the better. :)

Awesome deal...I couldn't find a better deal!

You sure it ships out of CA? It looks like they are in FL.

AutoCarParts.com
15275 Collier Blvd., #201-120
Naples, FL 34119

Edit: Most orders are shipped via UPS standard ground within the 48 States and bordering Provinces of Canada. Typically transit time takes approximately 2-4 buisness days to the west coast and 5-7 buisness days to the east coast. These figures are approximates and actual time may be more or less depending on the route.

So, I guess they do ship from the west coast.

yea i live in florida too so i ordered from there thinking it would be there like the next day since its so close to where i live. Well i see the UPS tracking and it says package has left CA. Kinda dissapointed since i had to pay state tax on it as well and then have it shipped from the complete opposite side of the US. But yes it does ship from Cali for sure.

Actually when i ordered from there, i placed the order at night, the next day it was already out in the mail and it only took 4 days after that for it to arrive. It was scheduled to be here in 5 but arrived in 4. Everything came perfect so i would reccomend still ordering from them. I didnt wanna steer you wrong in that last post i wrote, i deffinatly would order from there again

You guys heard of GruppeM? from Japan. insteresting intake for CL7.
I contact the person earlier, he said he can give export price (30% less than retail). I takes about 3 weeks to make.

I read this disclaimer on the Injen site

"*Injen Technology Cold Air Intake Systems should be removed in any wet climates or on any wet roads or highways. Failure to comply with the above warnings may cause water to be absorbed into the engine through the filter causing serious damage to your motor. Injen Technology Co., Ltd. assumes no liability for damages toy your motor due to water entering your engine through the Injen intake system. Although a bypass valve may be used on most systems, it will void warranty and the C.A.R.B. EO# at this time."

I live in Oregon (see where this is going yet?)...Is this just cya on their part, or should I really stear clear of this thing?

Thanks

Hello, and welcome to the Club :wavey:
You would have to just about submerge the filter to hydro-lock. But in heavy rain, and especially with deep bodies of water, this is very much a possibility.
You might look into a short ram intake

Welcome to the site!! :wavey:

In order to hydrolock your engine with a CAI, the water level has to be where the filter is. I think it's like a foot/foot and a half from the ground? Plus it'll vary with any suspension adjustments and wheel/tire size..

SAZABI
07-14-2004, 03:03 AM
well... I wouldn't worry about too much about hydro locking...
you need the filter to be submerged in water... which is about 2 feet high at least....

man, I don't think you will keep driving your can to a 2-feet deep hole... :Police:

HondaMan
07-14-2004, 10:07 AM
You would have to drive through a seriously flooded street/road in order for hydro-lock to occur. If the water level on a street/road looks abnormally high after a heavy rain, simply avoid it. I don't recall ever seeing situations like that when I lived in WA & OR.

BTW, welcome to the site! :)

Thanks for all the replies! I figured that may be the case, but didn't want to take any chances with my $26k baby :)

I can't wait until an audio clip of the new sound is posted!

Don't forget, you can also use it in SRI configuration also...higher off the ground..

OK, so will this CAI interface with the existing air "box" or does it come with it's own filter which sort of renders the factory air box and filter "obsolete?" Does running the Injen jave any effect on airflow sensor operation and emissions? I'm a pretty handy engineer and was curious how long and or difficult it is to install.

All the OEM intake setup including airbox, filter, resonators need to be removed in order for the Injen CAI to be installed. The only exception is the air direct that you can leave on. If you follow everything on the instructions on installation, no it will not have any undue effects on how your car operates.

Why would you leave that on? Virtually everything related the stock airbox is removed from my experience.

Noel

The air direct doesn't interfere with the Injen setup and isn't a heavy item justifying removal. I did notice cooler engine bay temperatures with the air direct left on as simply as having air circulating from outside.

Which part is the exactly? I don't think we are talking about the same component. Look at my DIY for pics of all the components.

I just realized you still have it in place.

See the piece right under your battery in the above picture? That is the OEM air guide. I don't think it's documented in either the Injen or K&N installation guide to have that component removed.

LOL I thought you might be talking about that part/component...check out this post: http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=34262&postcount=11

I did remove it after the fact. I don't see how that part could help that much in cooling the engine compartment, since it has a "cover" on it. :donno:

Why don't you guys try the Thread I made... heres the link, its showing you how to do an Injen Intake, wheel off method... but the steps are pretty much the same for any intake, especially the disassembly part

No sounds at highway speeds and only loud during WOT, which sounds great.
