I haven't been to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami in ages, but I am planning on going next month to see my uncle. What restaurants or places I should visit there?

Dining, any recommendations for seafood restaurants or restaurants unique to South Florida. Also, sightseeing, what else is there to see besides Sawgrass Mills, beaches, and swamps.

Well South Beach or Fort Lauderdale Beach for one. If you come to So FLa and havent been to South Beach even if you are not looking for a wild party night is a must.

There are lots of good restaurants in Miami and Ft Lauderdale. Up in Wilton Manors (Ft Lauderdale area), I like going to Galanga (a thai restaurant - good atmosphere but can be pricey). There aren't many good asian restaurants here in South Florida, just so you know. If you're into western food, there's Houston's or Seasons 54 or J Alexanders. These are chain restaurants.
If you go down to South Beach - check out Lincoln Rd. It's a pedestrian out door "mall" with lots of restaurants and some tourist shops. It's more fun at night (around 8 PM) because people are out and about eating and people watching. Diverse food choices on Lincoln Rd - sushi, thai, italian, german, cuban, american etc....
And since you're being a tourist, you might as well go up Ocean Drive once. The food there is "ok", but there's a lot of eye candy.
Hopefully it won't be raining while you're here (otherwise you'll be stuck going to the indoor malls - I prefer Aventura mall since they have better stuff.
You can e-mail me if you want more details.
