View Full Version : Kerry/Edwards: Republican reaction is great news for the Dems

Right on cue, they're saying that this is the "ultimate flip-flop," because of some things that Kerry said about Edwards during the primaries.
It's such an obvious thing to say -- yet, it's a gift for the Democrats beyond anything they could have dreamed of.
......because people understand that things "get said" in primary battles. If the Democrats feel like it, they could replay some of what Bush and McCain (now the best of friends :cough: :cough: ) said about each other in 2000. Or what Daddy Bush and Reagan said about each other back in the old days.
People know, and they understand. And if the elephants are now using this as "Exhibit A" of Kerry's flip-flopping, I think the whole flip-flop issue is officially toast.
Larchmont, who thinks he would have preferred Wesley Clark.
You better get that cough looked at larch! Sounds semi-serious.

This is great news for the Dem ticket IMO. Don't tell HondaMan, but I'm surprised he picked him. Edwards' star continues to rise??

The campaign also announced the release of a new television advertisement featuring what it said was Kerry's "first choice" as running mate, Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona. The Democrat courted his colleague and fellow Vietnam veteran for the job but was rebuffed.

I would LOVE to see McCain get frustrated with Bush, and publically denounce him. They clearly hate each other, and I'm not coughing :D
I guess it's getting late for Cheney to step down as VP on the GWB 04 ticket. I think he's become a liability for them, not an asset. I thought he might start having publically advertised heart trouble again and stepped down. I don't think Bush will ask him to though.

Well, I guess you will be surprised when the new Bush ad comes out with McCain endorsing GWB and pointing out how Kerry had him as his first choice for VP! :jester:
Also, you are right...GWB would not do that to Cheney and I think he is more of a liability than an asset as well. Wow, we actually agree on something! I would personally like to see a Bush/Powell ticket! :)

Probably not, since I just posted that

 Agreement??? :D
We will never see a Bush/Powell ticket. Powell is screaming to get out of the administration. I'll bet he is PO'd at having to tell proven-wrong WMD intelligence to the UN to make the case for war. If Bush wins in November, I predict a quick Powell resignation.
That being said, if Powell were to run for prez... hmmm... I have a lot of respect for Powell. He is the sensitibility in the Bush administration. Condi's sharp too, but she's a believer in the adminstration's ways. I think she'd be a good GOP VP candidate though. I hope they retain Cheney and his Iraq=9/11-speaking ways :D

Yep, again I agree...your Powell predictions will probably come true and I also wouldn't mind seeing Condi as a GOP VP candidate. :)
