2009 TSX: No Turbo and No Diesel -according to Automobile Magazine.
That's the word as of today according to their home page. If it's true, it blows (or fails to blow if taken literally).

In that case i won't upgrade to the New TSX anytime soon. I was hoping for Turbo and SH-AWD for the new TSX. :(

I read the Automobile release and it only said there would be no turbo model, meaning no gas turbo. There was no mention about the diesel. All new diesels are turbocharged so most people don't even consider them a turbo when discussing it. They just call it a diesel.
I really hope the i-DETC diesel shows up in the new model. That's the car I'm drooling over. Rumors are approximately 175 hp and 300 ft-lbs of torque. That will be one fun car to zip around in and still get 40 mpg.

They do mention the diesel but, it's in the heading on their home page not in the text of the article itself. I am copying it below:
2009 Acura TSX
"New information has become available on the next TSX, landing at the New York auto show. No turbo or diesel engines are planned. "
I am with you in hoping for the diesel.

Turbo or not; no more TSX for me. The exterior is really subjective, and to me, I don't like it as the size is getting into Accord terriority (which is a bit bigger than 300M)?? Too much overhang on the front/rear, and the car has not evolved enough. I will hold on to my TSX now, and switch to 135i when I'm ready.

^i'm with Chuson, not gonna touch the new TSX now. When i do upgrade i'm probably going with something else.
I'll be using the current TSX for a couple more years anyways.

I ponder what the % is of people who buy the same car again. I am a person that likes variety so I would never consider buying a TSX again under normal circumstances but apparently there are people here considering another TSX.
If market research shows that most buyers are more like me, that would explain why they did not change the TSX that much - they figure they will just nab the new generation. Current buyers I guess are supposed to trade up to a TL/RL.

I would trade for a newer gen if it came with a Turbo-K powered SH-AWD. Hell I love hondas. I was gonna get my Si's little brother. But the new Si's price was more than the TSX. Well the dealer asked for more. So here I am with a tsx.

Automobile Magazine has corrected their story:
"The real TSX powertrain story is yet to come: within a year, Acura will become the first Japanese automaker to offer a diesel engine in the United States, when it introduces the European-market Honda Accord's 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel. This engine will meet 50-state emissions standards without the use of urea-injection, Acura insiders claim, through an advanced catalyst. The engine makes 148 hp and (more importantly) 258 lb-ft of torque in the Accord."

The reason i love the current is TSX is its size and agility/fun-to-drive aspects. I dont like the way the next gen TSX is going. I also find the TL too large and will not consider upgrading. I am looking at BMW next as they seem to have the right mix of cars that appeal to my taste these days. I have owned Honda/Acuras my whole life and this is the first time in my life i have no craving for new one, ...disappointing

I'm so glad I got my 06 TSX 2 years ago instead of waiting for the 2nd gen TSX. From what I gather, the new TSX will not be much different, and will look alot uglier. I like my nimble TSX...

I seriously doubt that the 08 Accord is bigger than the 300. 300 has a like 116in wheelbase
