Sheesh, maybe I really did lose my mind and turn into Zigen while I was gone. :D
Good suggestion of course, Zigen. Except I'd put it a little differently: I don't think they necessarily have to consult us, but at least to INFORM us.
(Right? I have a feeling Z would basically agree.)
P.S. Hey Z, sounds like you were "over there." Wanna tell us who you were?
Maybe it was the same name, but never noticed it. :donno:
Or maybe y'all already talked about this somewhere else..... : outoftheloop: :D
P.P.S. The powers-that-be over there made out like what people were complaining about was "change," and that they're just resistant to change, like "Hey who moved my f***ing cheese." That totally misses the point. And I don't think they really believe that, unless they're a lot stupider than even I would have ever thought. (I never thought they were stupid, just sometimes defensive and/or [a couple of them] manipulative.)
It wasn't "change." Here's what it really was, boys and girls over there:
(1) Many people just truly liked the old format better. And arguably it was better.
(2) A lot of posts, threads, and entire forums just DISAPPEARED.
(3) And the biggest, biggest problem of all was that most of the problematic stuff happened without warning. Even if they didn't want to "consult" people in advance -- which they seem to NEVER do (or almost never) unlike this site -- they absolutely should have at least informed people about what was going to change, ESPECIALLY POSTS AND THREADS AND FORUMS THAT WOULD DISAPPEAR, even if it was just temporary. This exact issue was the first thing that caused a blow-up between me and the owner. My point was that there should have been some warning before they suddenly made stuff disappear. And the owner made it out like I was trying to run the site or dictate how it should be run. :donno:
Thanks for coming here, Z, and thanks for adding to our input.

yes... this is exactly what the admin/ owner there is thinking...
"This is my site, I pay for it, I do whatever I want"
I 100% agree with his theory, but why bother to open a forum then? Keep it private ROFL.

Thanx Larch! inform will be a better word. i am zigen over there too!
i think we as members should have a say in all decisions which affect the board, it is great that changes were being made but not to enhance one's power to control the board, rather to make the forum more members friendly.
