i agree. nothing about it looks good to me. It looks horrible. The front grill is nothing like what a TSX should look like. Im really dissapointed in Acura on the new tsx, and think they should have gotten a little more input from people like us who love the tsx, The grill is whats really throwing me off, and somethin about the car just doesnt seem "TSX" to me, it seems like this is a new line of Acura, not the tsx....

*disappointed* :banghead:

What did they do to the exterior?? Where the LED tail lights? Where's the increase power? wow...com'on Honda.

The exterior grew on me. Too bad they dropped the ball on implementing shawd.

As long as the TSX is a re-badge Euro Accord there will be no SH-AWD, period.

The car is not designed for AWD, it's designed for FWD... Honda isn't going to re-engineer the whole car for the US market. They sell 30K TSXs a year, which isn't nearly enough to pay for those kind of changes.

Everything that Acura has that's SH-AWD is designed around it... the RDX is a CRV, which has AWD, the MDX is a Pilot, with has AWD, and the RL was designed around AWD first. The current gen TL is basically a US Accord underneith and that's why it never got SH-AWD. The TL sold VERY well for Acura, so I can see them putting $ in to the next one to make it SH-AWD capable, but the TSX... not a chance.

The best thing one could hope for in the TSX is a 6 speed with LSD, FWD, with the 2.3T RDX engine.

They have an "S" setting for the trans. Wtf does that mean? Other then sport setting. Is it going to be a full auto with crisper throttle? Or an Manumatic thing.

With the exception of engine management. Thats easily attainable. I think they might have one someday. The sports4 did come with shawd. Too bad it was never put into production.

Dissapointing, I was going to trade my 01max. But I think I will go for the 09 Max - looks like a max and g35 combo:

I never liked Nissans. Never will. The new Maxima's headlights looks utterly retarded.

Even the engine management is attainable. Swap in entire engine from an RDX and tune a TSX ECU with the new curves and ignition timings. Throw on some TL Type-S brakes for more stopping power, keep the TSX trans with short gears but put in an LSD to help eliminate wheel spin and torque steer... Everything except for the tune would be totally parts-bin stuff. I can honestly see them doing that. If they did... and did a refresh on the ugly front end on this new TSX (I like the back, just not the front), I MIGHT consider it when it's time to get rid of my TSX... as long as the price is kinda low. It's hard to compete with the RWD/AWD IS350... which I'm leaning towards for my next car.

Acura will need shawd to compete with other automakers. All luxury level makers have awd in their entry level cars. Why not Acura?

Agreed. The G35 coupe is the only good looking one. The new Altima coupe looks *ok* because it's basically a ripoff of the G35 coupe. Everything else they make is ugly IMO.

The Lexus was one of my choices. But I need the back seats.

I agree that they need it, but until we have an entirely US engineered TSX, or Europe/Japan puts SH-AWD in an "Accord," we're not going to get it.

I don't want any Honda/Acura US engineered. Its gonna be crap if that ever happens.

The interior of the TSX was also designed in the US. :-)

w/out seeing it in real life, the interior looks cheaper than the current model: the plastics look cheaper & there seems to be less brushed aluminum used ... also very similar to the current Accord. I guess the TSX can only be so fancy when it is still an Accord elsewhere.

I wish that they left the 0 on the gauges @ the 6 o'clock position.

I still think that it looks nice tho.

That is the Accord elsewhere. Check this out:

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/04/geneva-2008-honda-reveals-the-2009-euro-accord-sedan-wagon/

The 04-07 TSX interiors were different than the JDM/EDM "Accord" interiors.

You're right. IS350 is. IS250 is RWD and AWD. I should have said IS250/IS350.

after owning 6 acuras (currently on a RDX), i'd have to say.. the new TL MUST look good or i guess it time to move onto a diff brand. like some have been saying, the LEXUS IS series is quite nice, aggressive and eye catching.

i read that the 09's are going to have the same engine as the 06-08's except that its been downgraded to 201hp instead of 205hp.

Wow.. the front is another fxxk up project from Acura, like the RL, it looks worst than the Honda Accord front end.

Front/Rear overhang wasn't as bad as I thought, but I just don't like it except the rear.

like I said in before they kinda messed this Gen2 TSX up with the bulging Maxima style fenders. That grille isn't cool, looks like a mustache or something from GM's Saturn division.

Though I think the styling will probably grow on me. Hopefully, they come out with the i-DTEC diesel. I'd be all over that. For now I'll keep my almost 5 year old '04 TSX.

Man, I just got the showroom 2008 TSX a-spec that was at the Philadelphia
car show and was having a little buyers remorse that I didn't wait for the 2009.
After seeing the pics though, I am very happy I went with the good deal I got on my car. The looks of my car with the a-spec package and color are far superior to the 2009. I feel acura made a big mistake. They have been know for their classic style with just the right touch of edge but this car looks like all the other cheap brand entry level 'luxury cars'. Us first gens should be happy we have our cars.

I like the exterior. It's grown on me. The interior though is bothering me now. I hate that double, triple, quadruple stacked dash. It looks almost as bad as the current gen passats.

*sniffle* I really think the first gen TSX / Euro Accord has classic lines that will handle the test of time very well. The 2nd Generation looks just like any other ugly entry level Jap car as you say. It is so disappointing to have taken a potential classic and ruined it.

At least Mazda with the new 6 did the evolutionary thing and there is a definite lineage there.
Cheers
