Voting against the $87 billion wasn't "abandoning" the troops. As HondaMan knows, congressional bills get put together in a very complex way, then you have to vote just "yes" or "no" on it. By that time, voting "for" it would have meant that you still bought into the administration's position AND the faulty intelligence, hook line and sinker. And by that time, Kerry couldn't do that any more. And he was right.
And besides that, HondaMan, weren't you listening?
Didn't you hear that Kerry actually "voted for it before he voted against it"? :D
