How come I don't see anyone use the 235/45/17 size?
Is it not worth buying new 17 inch rims if upgrading?

Anyone have pics??

Our stock rim is 7" wide. I think the 235 tire may be a little bit too wide.
I have 235/40/18 on 7.5" wide rims. I will dig some pics out for you.

For upgrading... If you just want the look, then doesn't matter, just go for whatever you like. (with ok offset, rim width of course)

I really recommend light weight forged wheels. They are pricy, but more advantages: smooth acceleration, better braking, and better heat dissapation (from the brake rotors). Brand I recommend: Volk (Rays) and advan (Yokohama)

SAZABI i've seen some pictures of your cars and rims before,
very nice!! :drool:

235 seems to fit well with the TSX but I just wanted to
see what it would look like in a 235/45/17 on stock suspension.

I was considering the Wedsport wheels from AJ although
they seem kinda heavy 21lbs for 17's

I was look at those 90 and also the Work emotion from AJ.
They are nice wheels, but I wouldn't spend the money on those...
I mean, for people who has 16" or 15"... then decided to go for size upgrade for looks... they would be good choice.
But... imo... if you have 17" then go for another 17" just for look... I wouldn't do it.
Those wheels are not really heavy... I think stock is 22lbs. However, if you put 235, they will for sure heavier than stock.

A wider tyre thread doesn't necessary mean improved handling. A 17s rim size would look identical to what OEM rims look like. I'd go with a 225/45/R17 measurement to compliment a similar contact patch with OEM.

I prefer 215 or 225 actually... feel so "slow" with the 235. but I wanted to keep the overall diameter... so I pick 235.

18s would use a different metric measurement once again. A specific size tyre profile cannot be migrated to a different size in short.

Well the 235 would still be a bit closer to the stock tire size (off 0.1%)
so I'll probably go with that when the time comes. Just have to decide
17 or 18 !!


I'm from Calgary but I visit Vancouver a lot :thumbsup:

They had it for promotion like 6 months ago. The price was pretty good compared to other dealer I have contacted. I think a set of 18s was $1200.

You have to email them if you want a set now... and I doubt it will still be the promotion price.
