Fuel Tank and Reserve

The 2009 TSX states it has a 18.5 gallon tank. When do you think the gas light will come on, what kind of reserve would you presume the car has? Does the 04-08 have a 18.5 gallon tank, when does the light come on, think they are the same?

FYI- I have put 325 miles on the car...my cruising range mode tell me I have 212 more miles left and I just dropped a hair below the half of tank marker.

Wow, that will cost a lil more to fill up than the 1st gen. At least the 09 TSX's gas tank isn't monsterously large like the Nissan Altima's 20 gallon tank.

The 04-08 TSX has a 17.1 gallon tank. The reserve is around 2.5 gallons from what I notice with my TSX when the light comes on. You can go 60-80 miles or so after the light has come on. It would be the same with the 09s, but with the slightly larger tank you'll get more range while at the same time pay more to fill up.

I filled up my TSX yesterday with Sams Club 93 octane for $3.599 at 14.6 gallons it cost me over $52!:eek:

$3.59 a gallon $52 total ???? NY im pumping 93 at $4.10 and i filled it up with 55 ? u sure u aint get ripped off lol

It's 4.07 in Southern California and that's in the cheaper area. Gas ownz us all.

*laughing* You guys think thats alot!! Try living in eastern Canada...$1.34/litre X 60 litres = $80.40!!! Plus we pay 10 000 more for TSX and our auto transmission is an extra unlike you guys in the states!! BTW...can anyone lend me $10...I need gas to go home!! :)

zhieson...I agree, its getting to a point where gas companies and SPECULATORS with their fear propaganda are spooking the whole market!! I mean, now every time a hurricane gets mentionned somewhere in the news, oil goes up!! I mean there has been hurricane since time began, why is it just in the last few years thats its becoming a BIG THING!!.. Imagine, investors who spook the market see the price of their own investment going up...HUMM...why aren't farmers worried that their cows will have MAD COW so lets sell the price of milk $10/litre while we're at it!! Politicians are more worried abou tmud sliging, who sleeps with who, who's pastor says what ...blah blah yet we have an energy crisis and no one seem to care that the economy is going down the tube...its not just the price at the pump, but its our food because its being trucked all over,...its the tourism industry, restaurants etc... *sigh* Sorry for being off topic but man this is getting frustrating when you feel no one cares...

If the proportions for the 2009s are the same for the 1st generation, there would be a 2.5x18.5/17=2.7 gallons in reserve. The first generation models have a 17 gallon gas tank.

Ok..so my light came on yesterday..I filled up immediately..about a mile more of driving to the next gas station. I filled up and it took almost 16 gallons..so I guess the 09's have a 2 1/2 gallon gallon reserve.
