Welcome to the forum bottle.
I would have posted earlier, but I was damn near blind on Friday from Lasik.:festive: As such, I'm not going anywhere until my eyes return to being white, as opposed to blood red.
I started my short shift install today. Didn't go well, I broke one of the welds that hold in the bolts to the plastic shift housing. Ooops. Unavoidable. Now I have one bolt that spins freely, so I have to wail until tomorrow to fix it. On the upside, I can take apart the whole center console without breaking (most) anything.

whats up bottle. the experience in a tsx vs a si coupe i think is totally different. one is like a young'ns car that is fast, tsx is more young professional i think and luxury. its not fast, but its quick. PWP is a great color choice, i think is prob 3rd popular for tsx owners next to CGP and NBP.
jeez dedman, did you ever get that reflash done yet? when did this short shifter project come up?

haha dedeman, i think you are the only true washingtonian.
ryan, 32% tint? is that possible? thought it was 35% and 20% for most films. for grill conversion, i believe you have to swap your bumper get that grill to fit in. you might have to do soem trimming. you want to go from 06-08 to 04-05 grill right?

I think there's a certain element of laziness in this thread. Here's my theory:
#1 People post something interesting/funny/question
#2 Some people respond
#3 Repeat step one
#4 Repeat step two
#5 Residents don't post much if nothing is really going on
#6 Others see that no one is posting, and in turn, don't read the thread
#7 On and on, a few days, a few weeks
#8 Bump "What's up guys? Where is everyone?"
#9 Start at #1 again
I ordered a bunch of parts from acuraoemparts, including a spoiler. Body kit is next if I can save the $$$.

hahaah i totally agree with you. my k&N cai install was the longest it ever took me as well, and this is the 3rd intake i've put in my lifetime. All other cars i did it on didn't require me to take off my bumper and put the filter down by the wheel well. all those freaking plastic clips were a pain the ass. btw, i totally got caught in the rain when i was putting my intake too!!! i ended cutting the resonator box off with a saw. I couldnt pull it off and couldn't force it off, so I had to cut it.

ufff dedeman, i'm not a huge fan of the spoilers for our tsx's. unless you got a lip one. the body kit came with my car when i got it, but i think the side skirts and rear bumper are real easy to put on. the hard one is the front lip. i think there are more plastic pieces to connect to the actual bumper. can't wait to see it on!

ufff dedeman, i'm not a huge fan of the spoilers for our tsx's.
You know, it seems that very few people on this site have the OEM spoilers. I kind of like them, they seem to fill out the rear a bit more, without the offensiveness of a 4 ft aluminum wing. I'm not big on the lip spoilers, they seem kind of short on the actual effect of having something on your trunk.
I'll try to upload some pics when I get it put on.
Wish me luck while drilling holes in my trunk lid.

i got off 15 minutes early yesterday, but it seems like everyone else in Tysons and McLean also got out early so that killed my commute.
Since i had no power at my house and my cell phone died, I never got the call that our office was still out of power. I showed up for two hours until they decided to officially close for the day. I wasted some serious gas between yesterday and today:squint:

I heard about this through a friend from clubrsx. i might go to the july 5 date. my car isnt setup for auto-x by any means and i'm not gonna max out, but i thought it'd be cool to push my car a little harder around a course. would any of u guys be interested?

To: Alert DC Users (rsan@alert.ema.dc.gov)
Open Fire Hydrants Cause Water Pressure and Safety Issues
WASA joins the District Fire Department in issuing a public safety alert.
The District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (WASA) and the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services are reporting low water pressure in some neighborhoods due to unauthorized opening of fire hydrants by residents seeking relief from the heat.
The public is reminded that unauthorized use of hydrants is illegal. Such activity will cause low water pressure and service problems for customers and can damage the underground water infrastructure. Loss of adequate water pressure can have a negative impact on fire fighting when firefighters are unable to get enough water to suppress fires. Opening hydrants also poses a safety issue for young children who could easily be hurt from the high water pressure.
Over the last three days, most of the 20-plus locations of reported open hydrants have been in Southeast Washington. Other locations identified were in the southwest and northeast areas of the District. WASA has had to bring in additional crews to respond to low pressure problems caused by hydrant openings. The public is urged to report open hydrants by calling the WASA 24-hour emergency line at (202) 612-3400.
Now I know that not having air conditioning is probably more prevalent in poorer communities, but that is not an excuse to open up a hydrant....

well it was causing low water pressure in the rest of the district...pressure needed for the fire dept if there was a fire..i dunno, i equate that to tapping into a power line and using it or stealing wireless internet from a neighbor.

indoors is a good idea, but we'd have to find a parking garage or something to use, and not get blown up by the cops. hooters is up in Maryland on rockville pike which maybe far for people like lc2ner. there is a hooters in downtown dc, but obviously the question is where do we all leave our cars. i'll do some searching on google maps again at work. but just keep checking the thread. this meet will eventually happen!

I finally got my car back, but not without some problems. I chose Herson's Honda Collision Center since my insurance has them down as a preferred repair center. The shop did a decent job fixing the damage and blending the paint. You can't notice any imperfections unless you are looking for them. The paint is a little dull in some areas but I think a good polish should fix that up. But unfortunately, this shop has some dishonest and careless employees.
First off, when I arrived to pick up my car, I noticed that they chipped some paint off my rear bumper. The chips were all the way down to the primer so it was impossible to miss. I showed them the damage and they said they would fix it. The next day everything looked fine and I took delivery of my car. When I got home and gave my car a wash, what did I find? they curbed my front lip!!! Fortunately, it is not visible since it is on the bottom but it still pisses me off bc it has only been on my car for a month.
You are supposed to bring a car to a body shop to FIX damage, not incur more! The worst of it all is that none of this was ever reported. You would think that if a worker did these things they would A) try to fix it, or B) report it to the manager to determine the next steps. None of that happened. Instead, they were hoping that I wouldn't notice so they wouldn't have to fix their mess up.
I definitely would NOT go to them again. I thought I would be better off bringing it to a dealership bodyshop, but that is certainly not the case. definitely stay away from this shop.

I've had bad luck with greasemonkey mechanics. I got my tires rotated and aligned at Sears a few years ago (old car), and they forgot to tighten my lug nuts, all of them. Hey, could you remove my oil plug while you're at it?
Think about how a 15 year old hs dropout would handle ****ing up someone's car if they knew they wouldn't be accountable for it. :donno:

I guess i have been lucky then i have never had any real problems with anyone messing with any of my cars, i always take them to the dealerships regardless of what the issue is (its a trust factor)
Mine is quite stock as well, you will see nothing at all since i just got it last month..

On my previous integra, the belts were replaced as normal service for the mileage of that car by a dealership. I had just crossed the D.C. line back to NW, pulled over to answer my cellphone.
As I got back on the road, there was an unholy racket coming from my engine bay. So I pulled over, and like a dumb***, left the engine running as I pop'd the hood. Apparently the power steering belt had shredded, and a big chunk flew out an hit me square in the face.
Got a tow, Got it back to Acura, at first I got full denial(*It seemed to be running fine when you left, but we'll take a look *anyway**)
Then I got, "The belt cover is bent, that might be was caused the failure", Finally they accepted responsibility, and offered my father a loaner so I could use my fathers car until repairs could take place (twas' late in the day).
That night there was a TON of snow and ice in the D.C. area.
Next day, went to pick it up, they had parked it half way outside the covered service parking area, where ice had fallen off and taken of a goodly size bit of paint.
I didn't say anything, I wish I had. Oh well. At least they picked up the repair so I didn't have to.
And I haven't paid for the little services ever since, they got me as a loyal customer, even tho its inconvenient for me to be serviced by them where ive moved to.
BTW, Ive moved, Comcast has *finally* graced me with internet access, and im back.
Best of luck to gmchu with his car's situation.

Comcast gets a big F from me :madfawk: I had them up in Baltimore, and it sucked beyond belief. I think I would have been better off with 56k, that worked consistently. I got about a 40% packet drop on normal days, 90% on bad days. $60 for sheet is still sheet.
I have speakeasy DSL now. It's kind of pricey, but no port blocking, no torrent blocking, you can run servers, and everything works ALL THE TIME.
At least you guys have access to FIOS if you want it. No rollout in DC. Again, :madfawk:
As for the groupbuy, I'd rather go for performance then looks, when dolling out $$$. Besides, I think stock TSX accents (grill, rims, etc) are quite nice. I'll fake it and say that I'm going to get the reflash in the next two weeks.
BTW, there's someone else in the area. I forgot his username (I'll look it up). I'm not going to resort to one of these "TSX sighting" things, OMG I saw someone driving a silver TSX today on 95!! Who cares.

When I was 15 I did a Summer At Fannie Mae, doing I.T. for the legal team. (4 of us for bout 100 lawyers on site, 100 more around the U.S.)
They felt there was no way I was worth their time, some didn't even bother speaking to me. Changed once I was the one taking inventory for the newest TREO, and when stuff started to break.

Insurance goes, not too bad for the Integra's, I got some rebate because of my grades. No driving program rebate or driving school rebate cuz it wasn't required in D.C..
Prelude was bad. RSX was worse. That was just one of the headaches that car caused me. It can be a cop magnate with very little effort and mine had a crap clutch. Prob. cuz the person before me didn't know how to drive stick.
In my defense, the Integra's were not my fault. But the Prelude, I was just being incredibly stupid.
and I *hate* office politics with a passion, back during that intern summer it was the bane of my existence.

ok, new lady has started the job 2 wks ago. she is still in training mode and slowly being given more duties. I came back from a client site and i have a daily 130pm deadline and I had alot of work to get done by then. I asked her to do a simple copy and scan document for me, basically hlep me out. she flipped out and said, "since when did i become yoru personal scanner and copyin person? you shouldn't be giving me your crapwork. don't talk to me in that tone either, i work with you not for you. also i'd like to hear more thank you and please. I also think you are a prick and you are arrogant. You like to boss everyone around and never think you are wrong."
OKAYYYYYYYYYYY. I was absolutely about to flip a motherfukcin shit. first, how dare you call me a prick and arrogant to my face. 2nd, this an office not home. that is very unprofessional. I have never asked her to do any work for me, in fact beacuse she is in training I have hesitated from doing so. If she does any of my scannign copying, she actually offered to so and she admitted that. She interviewed with me and said she wanted to do administrative work. Scanning and copying is administrative, and if she calls that crap work than she was just making stuff up at her interview. She may be older than I am, but I say thank you and please enough as it is that I odnt need to say it eveyr time to you to do something. noone has ever called me a prick or arrogant, and for you to judge me in 2 wks that is entirely out of line. You just started. I am the 2nd to the bottom in the dept in terms of ranking. I have no PhD, I am not a medical doctor, and I have no masters. But i have a bachelors and I've been here longer and that is why you are too at the bottom. So tehrefore, I cannot boss anyone around and have no right to. Also, I own up to my mistakes. I dont defend them and i fix what is wrong. noone at my office will say that I am irresponsible. So fuggin bitch.

For tires, I got Goodyear Eagle F1 AS. They weren't cheap, but the guy at the Goodyear place gave me like $30 off each (still don't know why).
I had (OEM) bald fronts, and almost new rears, so I kept the rears (no disposal fee), and sold them for $30 each.
Anyway, it's now about 6 months later, and the tires are still doing quite well. Plus, they have an aggressive tread. I haven't had too much inclimate weather to really test them out on (I miss NY snow).
Total bill, about $950 all in.

Apparently, if you use the coupon code CJULYFUN0810P, you'll get 10% off anything (up to $100, I think). I tried it, and it worked. It's for anything at auction, "buy it now", whatever. I think I had to buy first, then apply it, rather then seeing if it would work before I purchased it.
I would give it a try. I remember reading in ebays FAQ about it, that it's open to anyone with an account and paypal.
