I think the overall car doesn't look too bad...but the grill is the only thing that turns me off.
How much does the grill bug you? Personally, I like the new JDM accord grill much better...what about you guys?

It's not bad. It's growing on me more and more. I'll still probably end up replacing it with a Mugen style grill when they become available though.

I hate the plenum grill.
It's gross.
It looks best on the new TL... or on any car that's silver because you don't notice it as much.

can't stand it. although i can tolerate it more on the new TL vs. the RL or TSX.
i think it's just the design of the front-end of the TL where the grille looks less obnoxious. i've decided the front of the TSX looks like ass.

Never was really feeling the new body style of the 09's. But I love the plush interior

I really wish it wasn't industry standard to arbitrarily remodel a car every 5 years. If you have a design that people like, that looks good, DON'T CHANGE IT. Acura, BMW, I'm looking at you. (E46, entire Acura lineup)

It completely reminds me of the Saturn grille. My wife and I always say it when we see the new Acura commercials. So far, I have only seen one new TSX on the road near me.

Why are the cars bigger?
Because we as people are growing. I heard 60% of the US is overweight and 45-50% are considered obese. So our cars grow to reflect the population.

We had a 4 page thread about the grill here (http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27159).
As for remodeling, Ford recently announced that they are switching models every 3 years to keep things fresh. I think 4 years, like Honda used to do pre-1998 would have been good. 5 years is a bit long even for popular models: for instance, the 2004 TL sold like 7,000 units a month & was the top seller in the class for years but now, 5 years later before the new body style, it has been selling half that.

Acura is apparently determined to make the RL, TL, and TSX all look alike when you see them from the front. They have made the 09 TSX too big and it has lost most of its good looks and tight design. I would not even consider buying another Acura based on their current design direction. I have an 05 TSX.

I don't really agree, but I'm not calling the shots, so it doesn't matter. I would say that they were selling like crazy, not only because it was a new design, but a good one at that, and there weren't many on the road. Now, 4 or so years later, people aren't out in droves to buy a new TL because there are so many (replaced the A4 as the moderately affluent car), but you also have a wider market, now that people can afford a used model.
New design does not equal better design. I think part of the reason the A4 lost it's appeal is because they drastically changed the design, and lost their lunch to Acura (who I would argue is losing it to the Lexus 250).

honestly i can't stand the grill, or the car itself for the most part. i havent seen what the new TL will look like, but i dont like the TSX, and i dont like the RL. the RDX and MDX are pretty good looking, but features wise its lacking. no touchscreen ticks me off.

Forget the grill the car itself is ugly. The thing is bloated, random lines everywhere. I find myself thinking its some new Toyota/ Honda everytime I see them on the street it doesn't look like an Acura at all.

In another couple of months so many people are going to be used to the new look that it won't make a difference anymore.
Whatever the opinion is on here, Acura sure is selling enough TSXs (in this economy, no less) to show that there are more "lovers" than "haters."

I think the 2nd gen looks a ton better than the 1st gen. The front grill being the only thing I think looked better on the 1st gen. But that can be replaced so it's not that big a deal. I think overall though the car has a much sportier look than the 1st gen did.

Maybe that is because it's a new Honda.
Like the 1st gen TSX is a Honda, the only thing that makes it an Acura are the badges.

I don't like the grill at all. most of the car I'm okay with, the rear looks decent, the interior is quite nice, but I definitely feel that the car has gone more luxury than sport. I was considering an 09 (it would have really stretched the budget) but I was much happier with the first gen style. We are actually considering picking up an 09/10 (that's weird-it'll just be 10 for 2010) TL but after the pics I've seen, mdx may be the way to go.

Freakin' hideous front grill....and the back end is bloated (think Star Jones before the lap band procedure).
The interior plastics are...well "plasticky". The center console which was once a model of simplicity is now a confusing series of angles, cavities, and more buttons then you really need to get the job done.
I went to a few dealers trying to track down either an 08 or a low mileage 07. The salesmen said they are like gold...no one wants to part with them. No problem getting an 09 apparently ;)
The only good thing about the styling is that with the upcoming launch of the new TL, the TSX will no longer be the ugliest Acura.
Did some one say: "mid-cycle refresh ASAP"?

maybe where you are at, down in my area people are trading in their 1st gen left and right for 09s. to the point dealer refuse to let you bargain too much for the car.

Fair enough...if the 09 turns your crank then what can I say.
Still I can't help but long for the Vigor after staring too long at a 2nd generation TSX.
I think the Car and Driver magazine reviewer said it best about the new TSX styling: "Baby what happened to your face?"
Enough said...:puke::puke:

I wasn't a fan of the grill until I saw it in person. Now I like it, as well as the overall design of the car.
Why did they increase the size? I'm guessing they are making room in their product line for a smaller car. New RSX? The allusive Advanced Sports Car Concept? Who knows.
