China leader warns Bush on Taiwan

Chinese president Hu Jintao has phoned President George W Bush to warn the US against selling more military technology to Taiwan.

second -- most of the taiwanese never think Taiwan belongs to China anyway.

I am Taiwanese also, and I think that Taiwan is not a part of China. I don't know why China thinks it is. I don't want to see a war started because of this issue. Also, Chen Shui-bien isn't helping matters, plus his whole re-election assassination attempt was staged so he can get sympathy votes....

I've been wondering what the system is like in China now, and where it's going, and HOW it's going.

I figured it was at least sort of becoming more and more capitalist, but I have no idea how much, and I don't know what the basic system is.

And I don't know how it's going either. Although I have the impression that they've been basically on an uptrend for some years, and maybe that they've continued on an uptrend in the last few years even as most of the rest of the world was in recession.

But I don't really know.

China is growing like crazy in just about EVERYTHING..but not so much in the political system.
I think that's smart - look what happened to the former USSR --- now that's a dictionary definition of "mierda hitting the fan" - now that country is partly run by the Russioan mob.

The basic system you're referring to is Communism (== Socialism ?) .
Real quick:
NO private ownership of LAND (the sort of perpetuality as the REAL capitalist lands like US)
Private business/endevour- It's like NYC X 1000000000

I am holding on getting a new ThinkPad --- in a couple years them laptops will pretty much ALL be made in China & will go for like $400
