I think I'd rather have freedom of speech, and let people make up their own mind whether or not they want to see it JP ;)

so sorry for the Kuwaitis
It's about time we stopped taking crap from this little piss-ant country. This is a clear violation of human rights!! It's time to drum up some fake WMD charges against Kuwait, get our boys in there and free the Kuwaiti people.
Then of course we can award the rebuild contracts to Halliburton, torture a few people, install a puppet government, and steal their oil, all in the name of Human Rights.

Why does this all sound so familiar ;) :thumbsdow

We have to attack Kuwait before they attack us!! Don't you understand?? Hopefully we can scrounge up an obviously faked document saying they tried to buy nukes; that will lend serious creedence to our cause.
Finally, all we need to do is have the UN pass a vaguely worded resolution authorizing the use of force. Then, when our allies won't support the invasion, we can blast the UN for being totally worthless and rally to remove ourselves from the useless United Nations. Of course, our top priority will be to enforce the UN resolution against Kuwait, and no one will notice or question how illogical those points of view are.

I guess I haven't been following Kuwait enough. (No, I'm serious.)
The image most of us have of Kuwait is (vaguely and generally) that it's OK.
In an approximate way, don't we sort of view it like Israel -- I mean strategically and emotionally, not in substance, and surely a lower-case version -- in that it's the next closest thing there to a country that we can count on? And we also have the idea that as those other countries go, it's "pretty good."
Larchmont, who knows more about the Middle East than this stupid post makes it sound.
Geez, looks like my sarcasm was lost on this crowd. :D

Wow, yes -- I think it was! :slaps self in head real hard:
At least to me. I was going faster than usual at the time and just skimming. Also I was still quite freaked out by the terror alert (hadn't yet seen or heard the day's news, which changed the picture considerably), which I guess affected my comprehension.
I think usually I wouldn't have been so :tard:

Larchmont, who knows more about the Middle East than this stupid post makes it sound.Mark Twain knew all about the Middle East before any of us were born:
I wish Europe would let Russia annihilate Turkey a little--not much, but enough to make it difficult to find the place again without a divining-rod or a diving-bell. - The Innocents Abroad (1869)
Thomas Jefferson found out about it, too. Not that he wanted to...
