Indeed I'm looking forward to it too.
Besides being a political junkie, I wouldn't want to miss it if there are any huge gaffes.
Larchmont, who thinks that shouldn't really be considered "GOP hate crap." :D

Our president George W. Bush has worked hard to protect and preserve the American dream for all of us. That's why I say ... send - him - back to Washington for four more years!

Not to mention this line was great:
Speaking of acting, one of my movies was called "True Lies." It's what the Democrats should have called their convention.

Besides being a political junkie, I wouldn't want to miss it if there are any huge gaffes.Although I wasn't cringing as much at Barbara and Jenna's 15 minutes as I was at The Saga of Licorice the Drowned Hamster, I was still cringing.
I think 3 minutes of The Sisters and filling up the remaining 12 minutes with Ed Koch's endorsement would have been more effective politically, but nobody asked me.
BTW did you (or anyone else) happen to catch the major politically significant event of the evening, which was the Florida Senate primary????

I agree about the twins...not a good idea politically, but if their goal was to be funny, ditzy and lighthearted I guess they achieved it.
So, what was the deal with the Florida Senate primary?

It's Martinez vs. Castor in Florida....
Now, I think it's significant because I woulda picked Castor (D) to win over McCollum, but I'd pick Martinez over Castor. Think McCollum is a loser, and my main reason is because I think McCollum is even weirder looking than the Junior Shar-Pei from the State of Massachusetts. I would not have been shocked to read that they caught him with a dead girl, a live boy, or both at the same time. Strange the way people elect their leaders, isn't it? Anyway, IMVHO "As the Florida Senate race goes, so goes Florida!" and "As Florida goes, so goes the election!" So I think it's more important than the speeches were last night.
Entertaining as they might have been.

I did not get a chance to see anything last night...how was Michael Steele's speech?

Never heard of the guy. :donno:
He's Maryland's Lt. Governor, a very intelligent man, Republican, and African-American. He's been taking some heat around here recently from black democrats for speaking at the convention, and backing Bush.
I don't always agree with the Ehrlich-Steele administration, but these are two guys with whom I'd love to share a bushel of crabs and some Natty Bohs. Far more interesting than either the Shrubster or the Flip-flopper. :D

Wow what a job by Guliani and Schwartzenneger. Guliani gave the speech of his life. That was an amazing speech. I'll give Schwartzenneger the runner up prize so far.

Hell yeah, great RNC...I feel the momentum and the GOP & GWB are going to steam roll Kerry November 2nd! :D
Did y'all notice my town (Gainesville, GA Elementary) mentioned in GWB's speech?
Larch, you going to stay up late to watch the beginning of Kerry's desperate attempt to save face after the RNC...a midnight rally in Ohio...what a joke!

Yes, I did hear that about Gainesville -- and I got confused a little because I only really knew Gainesville FLORIDA.
And yes indeed of course I "stayed up late" to watch Kerry. Hate to tell you, but he was VERY good.
Larchmont, who's only just getting started when the clock strikes 12.

Yep, lots of people usually think of Gainesville, FL not GA. I watched the first little bit of Kerry's speech...all hat no cattle...HAHA....like he knows what he is talking about. LOL I’m not surprised you thought it was good...as I'm sure you were not surprised I thought GWB's speech and the RNC went well. ;)

Deus ex machina???? (A kinder, gentler war on terror? Well, so much for the Security-Mom vote....)
Russian Troops Storm School as Hostages Break Out (Update1)Sept. 3 -- Russian troops stormed a school in the country's south, after hostages started fleeing the building where armed terrorists had been holding as many as 1,500 people captive for two days in Beslan, North Ossetia.
More than 200 wounded were taken to hospitals, Interfax said, citing Lev Dzugayev, spokesman for North Ossetia's government. Russian broadcasters NTV and Rossiya showed children escaping and gunfire and explosions could be heard during the broadcasts.
Russian forces haven't taken the area fully under control and gunfire can be heard coming from near the gym where the hostages were held, Sky News reported from the scene. Interfax earlier reported that the area was almost under control.
``Most of the children who had been taken hostage are still alive,'' NTV television reported from the scene. ``There are very many wounded.''
I haven't heard it mentioned that Mr. Cheney's served as Secretary of Defense at the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union, Manuel Noriega's defeat and Saddam's expulsion from Kuwait. Which were all conflicts which the United States won, not embarrassing defeats! Don't know why it's not been mentioned, maybe they're saving it for a slam-dunk line in the debates???
Overall, from what I saw of Bush's speach, I'd say he did a pretty decent job. I didn't see all of it, but I caught a solid 45 mins or so. I didn't see any major verbal screw ups, and his little joke about Ahnold correcting his English was funny. It was also funny how he claimed credit for the housing boom, as if symbolic presidential policies have an effect on hard housing prices. Oh well -- that's what all presidents do. Claim ownership of the things that went right, and blame the other side for things that went bad. Damn that liberal media!! Damn that vast right wing conspiracy!! rrrrrrrrr6
The Century of Liberty...I guess we'll see how this plays out. Doesn't seem like we've been too successful in beating Liberty and Freedom into the Iraqis so far. LMAO
You'll be a Democracy AND LIKE IT MISTER!!
:spin: Happy Friday!!!! :spin:
