The CL9 Accords in UK and Europe have OEM factory rear fog lights. All thanks to Swedish member Per-Anders for supplying the required Honda part numbers required for this retrofit.

Thread revived and revised based on request. My initial posting last year netted no response from regional members. Perhaps this time round, there can be some help provided.

All you have to do is walk into your local Honda dealership and ask for the required Honda part number which goes something like this; "12345-SEA-678". With that, anyone will be able to quite easily source the required parts.

You mean this?

Yes, that's correct. You'd have the EU version there. Would you happen to have the Honda P/N for it?

Sorry....I threw the box away ages ago.
I actually emailed (almost all) Germany Honda dealerships and asked if they would sell this and ship to Canada for me. Took me a while to get a response from "one" dealership....and shipping cost actually more than the unit itself too.

I was just thinking about this. Had it on my C36. How does the wiring work?

Noel

moTSX perhaps would be the best to advise on how the wiring is done.

Noel -> Thanks and nice with little swedish!

On Honda Accord we have a extra switch to rear foglight on the switch to front foglights. If somebody want to see I can get picture on it. I have also "Rear Fog Light Circuit Diagram" if somebody wants.

Thank you, one more question (although I'm pretty sure I know what the answer is). When you turn your parklights on, but with your headlights off, do the front foglights work? Or do you have to turn the headlights on before front and rear foglights become available?

Noel

EU, UK and AU uses the same wiring pattern. Park lights ON, front fog lamps will be available.

Wow... now it makes me wonder if I shouldn't get that stalk and rear fog lamp to my TSX, as long as rewiring wouldn't be a b***. What do you think?
And I don't mean rewiring my existing foglights, I can do that. But if I mount that UK stalk, is the stalk itself different in its structure that allows turning foglights on with parklights only? (I know on TSX, the USDM OEM stalk for foglights only sends a ground signal to foglight relay after headlights are on.) Or is there a lot of OEM wiring hassle to deal with?

Noel

You'd need the EU stalk and wiring harness that goes with the rear fog lamp. Without the wiring harness, yes it'd be a true PITA to have it wired. I personally have other plans hence I'm getting both instead of just one side.

Peregrine

Hmm... please share your plans Noel 1blue1.gif

If you change both, is the backup light on those still as strong as on the ones without the fog light?

Noel

Ideally, I intend to convert the rear fog lamps into additional brake lamps. So, there will be either 2 dual filaments like the current rear brake lamps allowing for a full rear lid-up on movement or it'd be a single filament active when braked.

Either process, it'd also double up as a red-reversal signal instead of my current white reverse lights.

Cannot see how changing this setup will affect the lighting output, instead perhaps it'd be determined by the bulb type.

Peregrine

...allowing for a full rear lid-up on movement ....

he, he, I lost you in the second sentence a bit, Noel, but overall, I follow. I think it's a great idea. I've just never noticed (only had few opportunities, anyway) how the reverse/fog combo light actually lights up on the Euro model. So I thought that the full white reverse light was stronger than the fog/reverse combo.

If the output is the same, I'd love to do that too. Do you have any info on size and part number for the harness we need to replace? Is it only the harness, stalk and (obviously) lamps? And if we want 2 fog combos in the rear, do we need 2 harnesses?

BTW, a little of topic, would you by any chance know which wire (and in which harness connector) in the TSX' steering column is the front foglight (-) output from the stalk? I asked Robert several times, but he hasn't responded for a week.

Until I get the rear foglamp parts and dis-sect the rear to see how it should be wired to work, cannot speculate in regards.

Can't help you on the front either, I don't run OE front fog lights. I use PIAAs. ;)

Peregrine

ok, thanks, Please post some details when you're done with yours.
Any idea who else would have access to wiring specs to find that wire for front fogs output?

Noel
11-22-2005, 04:00 AM
Not really Pete.

For the rear, moTSX has done one side.

Peregrine

ThnX, I'll figure it (sooner or later ;))

For Peregrine,

For wiring the rear tail fog light, my friend did it for me. All I know is, I can turn on the fog light when my low bean is on. And I bought a 04-05 Accord oem fog light switch which fit perfectly next to the cruise control switch.

so i can just walk up to any honda dealership and ask them to order for me???!

With the part numbers, yes Honda dealerships have the ability to do so. Hence why I've been spreading the news to continually use Honda part numbers to source what we need instead of going through parallel importers.

These costs AUD$500+ a set, are made in Japan and then shipped to relevant local markets. Honda Japan personally don't market these on their own JDM CL7/9s though.

How do they price you parts that are from japan?

Noel

JHM's selling price + shipping and handling costs the in-country Honda not dealership charges.

just to clarify, if it's not a part available on any vehicle in the US market, US dealers cannot procure the part directly from Honda Japan. To do so, we'd have to link up with a Honda dealership in Japan no differently than any other customer.

Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like Honda Australia has a more sensible and flexible approach to business.

it now seems this links is dead. Did anyone save this diagram? Or can anyone post another diagram of the reverse fog light circuit?

No circuit, I didn't use that as reference either. You simply work off your current wiring harness/loom.

I'm sure you won't have a problem working it out, Pete. ;)

(lol... sorry Noel, my first mistake as a mod, I pressed EDIT in your post instead of QUOTE)

Oh, it's not that I need it for anything, especially now, but there was a diagram in this thread, and now it's gone, so I'm asking if someone who still has it can repost/reattach it (for any memebers that might need it)

Not that I know of, I don't think anyone would've pursued this approach other than me. LoL ... And all I was after was the P/N. Everything else was useless to me.
