Wow!
A good friend of mine has been considering Acura, so we agreed to swap cars for one day so that she could see what the TSX was like. In exchange, I was given her 20 month old Volvo V70 T5.
Now, I know what you're thinking... a wagon?! That's what I thought, and, really, I still do. But, I used to think that they were the ugliest cars ever invented. But, once I got into her car, I think I fell in love. I absolutely loved it.
Here's the real kicker. Her turbocharged Volvo is a stick! I've never seen a Volvo wagon with a stick before, but it was the easiest MT I have ever operated. Of course, the only other MT I have ever used is on a Mustang, so we're comparing apples to oranges.
Even though it was my first time behind the wheel of her car, I never felt like I was applying too little/too much gas in the take off, and the shifts were very smooth. The clutch depression is not a long haul like on the Mustang, and the gears were very easy to find. Not to mention the pick up this car had. I think I left an imprint on the seat! Of course, I don't like that the dual-zone climate control is not electronically displayed, but I did like the 20 programmable radio stations. The steering wheel is also thicker than the TSX's, so its much nicer to grip. The shift knob is also leather-wrapped.
I didn't get my TSX in a stick, and I honestly don't know how the TSX manual drives, because I've never been in one. Now, I wish I had! It's too late now, I suppose.
Anyway, holy cow, Volvo's got something going on. :) I hope the TSX is the same.
