That's a crappy deal for SoCal. you should get at least 1500 off for 2004 models, if not 1500-2000 off.

I paid 27,250 + TTL = 28,500 out the door, off the lot. $5K down, financed the rest thru Acura @ 4.75% x 60 mo.
Got '04 6 speed MT with navi, splash guards, floor mats, wheel locks, pin stripe, and trunk liner.
Black/Parchment.
That was just last week, in Virginia. Hope you can work a good deal. You should be able to get more than $1000 off MSRP. That was about the opening offer from a few dealers here. I was able to haggle a little more.
good luck, you'll love the car.

The Silver with ebony 2004 TSX automatic with navi demo. It has under 6,000 miles at the
moment.
It has full ground effects kit, rear spoiler, autobondh anti paint
chipping protective coating, fog lights, autostart, alloy wheel option,
all season mats, metal trim interior, and wheel locks.
selling price: $30,700.00
I paid $27,500 + TTL for Navi and a "protection package" consisting of trunk liner, mud guards, locking lugnuts, and lifetime free oil changes. It's a Meteor Silver autobox with Quartz interior. That translates to about $2400 off of sticker price, including the dealer-added package.
Did you have a Navi in it?
At $27,000 including tax, tags, and license, that would be an excellent deal. I suspect it is not a nav car.

I got mines back in May 2003 for an OTD price of $26,500 (doesn't include licensing/other misc. taxes). This OTD price included the OEM spoiler, trunk tray, wheel locks, and mud guards, the dealer added the trunk tray at no extra charge. I took about two hours to negotiate the price down from $28k. Also, got an Arctic Blue TSX instead of the Carbon Gray TSX because I didn't want to wait 4-5 months for one.

i just came back from the dealership they had a demo rear spoiler option wheels and full kit, with a navi for 29k. But they said 29K is w/o adding the kits in the price and the option wheel.
That's way too much. $29k USD is sticker price. For a demo you should be looking $2000-2500 off of that. We just bought one with about 200 miles on it for $27500 with the trunk mat, mud flaps, and wheel locks. I'd start at $27k and add about 50% of the retail price of the options they've put on it.

That's a steal! How in the world did you find a new 04 manual w/ nav??? and that inexpensive. I called a lot of places interested in an 04 vs 05 and they all said they had none... those manuals sold out by June! Everyplace I looked and my banks own negotiators couldn't get any dealer to even talk about getting money off MSRP for an 05 manual w/ nav, WTFO?

That was a few weeks ago, and it was before the '05's were really available, and I guess they still had quite a few '04's around, or at least some. Which was still probably longer than Honda/Acura intended.
Some people have wondered if maybe the reason they waited so long to put out the '05's was that they were taking longer than expected to sell the '04's (which would be surprising since the car was beating the original projections, but still) -- and it looks like that's very possible.
So....in between then and now is when the '05's came out, which might mean that this is exactly the period when the '04's basically ran out.
If you can find one (with what you want), of course you'll get it for less than an '05 but not necessarily for as little as what Dralph paid -- because there aren't that many.

Depends on where you live. We starting looking for ours in Oct. of 04 and there were barely any 6mt in the whole state. We even looked into some dealerships on the GA border. We couldn't get the exact color we wanted but after 3 weeks of searching we finally found one in NBP. We paid $25,500 w/ spoiler & bra....$27,900 OTD. We paid cash. I don't think we did too bad considering no one else would match their price.

All of you are lucky you paid what you did. I just bought my 2004 TSX 6-speed w/o Nav (Nav is a waste of money anyway) in late October 04, and I paid $29,500 OTD! Here in Hawaii, the dealers have this little thing called "lack of availability fee", which basically says "Hey buddy....we're going to rape you on this deal!" On the islands, they have a huge amount of leverage on NOT dealing with you, because if you don't pay what they are asking........someone else will. One reason is that they don't get that many cars sent here, so what they have here, is what you have to choose from.
I was orginally in the market for an S2000 for myself, but they were asking...get this.....$38,500..........not including TTL! I told them to honk on BoBo. One dealer in fact has had THE EXACT SAME S2000 sitting on their lot for 16 months and would not take my offer of $34,000 OTD. Bastards. So I bought the TSX for my misses and I will get the S2000 when I get back mainland in about 10 months.
So there you have it. I have to say it again......you are all lucky to have paid what you did.

With the car I got the floor mats, trunk liner, wheel locks, that whole stupid protection package thing (hey 400 bucks for the whole deal wasn't THAT bad), the glass was etched (didn't pay for it!), and I think I have mud flaps, but those are coming off anyway.
All I know is Honda better cut me a sweet-ass deal on the S2K when I get it because at that point I will be making payments to them in excess of $1300 a month!! I guess I am the proverbial 'cash-cow' for them. Oh well....fun costs money.

You are correct, that is what I fly. I am in Iraq right now, about to go home to my wife after 12 months deployed. I've seen and done some crazy things over here, and I cannot wait to get home see my wife again and get back on the track.
I wouldn't doubt that some people could benefit from the NAV system, but for me, it just doesn't make monetary sense to get it. I'm sure this subject has been covered a thousand times already, so we'll just leave it at that. No worries though.

I think that's impossible. I have the same tax rate and assume the same fees since we are in the same state. If you can get that for a tsx, with nav i presume, then that's simply amazing. I am having a hard enough time doing 30 OTD.

robert - Why would you care? If you know how much fees are and your local sales tax, let them lie and fib all the numbers they want. If you get an OTD price that's fair, it should make no difference how they arrive at that number, right?
robert_tg
01-13-2005, 05:42 PM
Because "How much is the car" is a very simple question.
car is a basic commodity like stocks....unlike things like intellectual properties, J-Lo's butt...
So if a dealer refuses to answer my very simple question, that to me personally means == he's giving me the run-round, not being straight. And I refuse to deal with people like those.

Today I give presents(OEM body kits w/o rear spoiler) to my TSX today
and my dealer ordered it today. But I don't know official price..
It is comming from Japan and I will get it in this weak or next weak.
It costs additional $1300 including installation, tax and 5 year warranty.
Anyway.
I have a suggestion about dealership.
How about making forms like this?
1. years
2. manual/auto
3. with navi/without navi
4. other options
5. color
6. states where you bought the TSX
7. name of a dealership.
7. invoice price.
8. OTD price.
9. comments of a dealership
When I was in other clubs, these kinds of forms were really helpful and easy to distinguish the information that each people wants.
Also it makes dealers competitive.

sign the paper yesterday for an 05,non-navi, PWP, auto for $25,500. I'm picking her up tomorrow. MA tax is 5% so OTD is around 27 something. I'm not sure what the exact figure but I'll check the paper again. And I also got the speical 3.29% rate for 60 months(president day sale) with 3 K down. oh and I got it at Acura of Boston....can't wait for tomorrow!:spin:

I only found out about this site post-purchase, so go easy on me as I now have a feeling I didn't get the best deal. I went in looking for a used TL and ended up test driving the only one of two certified TSX's that I could find on Long Island. He probably knew he had me hooked.
used 04, no navi, certified, 10k miles: $23,750 for car before tax/tags. Gave me what I figured was a decent trade-in on an old Legend barely running.
no worries even if I didn't get a great deal cause I'm a happy guy, but always like to learn--for next time...

we got:
'05 6MT no nav, taxes/fees/docs/delivery/etc...everything, out the door. car was already on order as stock, but had not yet arrived. CG / Quartz 6MT, exactly as we wanted.
we gave:
'95 integra LS w/220k & mismatched tires
$10,000 cash
$16,100 @ 3.9/60
we didn't really have to play hardball...i think there might have been a few hundred more in there if we'd wanted to invest the time, but we didn't, and we appreciated the fair deal up front. the integra was tired, but actually in pretty good shape for the mileage.

Hey, hope you get yours soon! I wanted the ABP with 6speed, but they said come back either April or May...so I'm like screw that. So I got the PWP with auto instead because father didn’t want me to get a stick anyways. And it’s really hard to say no when the car is right in front of you! Oh, and my sales person is Rob Retoma I believe? Nice guy. But I did have to play hard ball to get it at 25,500. Tom, the manager, literally had to chase after me to sell it at my price. His price was 26,780 but I wasn’t buying that. My father and I had to walk out the dealer for him to sell it at my price. It was an eventful day but it was worth it. =)

Hey there guys, haven't posted much, but i've spent a lot of time reading this great forum. I've been looking at the tsx for quite a while now, and it's just about time that I am getting one (mid-march to end of march). I went to the dealership earlier tonight and test drove it out, and I was thoroughly impressed and am in love with the car. I want the NBP ebony interior 5AT no nav, and the guy gave me a price of 26,760. He was so sure that this was going to be the lowest price because he went on to carsdirect.com right at the table and got the price of 27,xxx. So he said to go ahead and use the internet and since I saw some quotes of 25k-26k on this site, I went ahead and did so. I showed him the prices of 25,500 in this very thread, and he saw that it was from Texas and said that there was a location differentiation. What do you guys think of this price?
larchmont
03-04-2005, 01:27 AM
Depends on exactly where you are. Also, can't tell from your post what that quote includes. Does it include the "destination charge" (which is about $600)?
Is there any state sales tax that's being included?
We'll be able to give you better feedback if we know.....

I live in San Diego, California. No, the quote did not include sales tax or destination charge.
Looks like it's $230 below MSRP (list price).
I can't imagine how he saw 27-something, because that would be MORE THAN list price (unless he WAS including destination charge and/or something else).
Some cars do go for over MSRP, but we've never heard of TSX's doing that.
I'm nowhere near Cali, but from what we've heard on here, most people in the area do better than a $230 discount. I mean, I think the car is worth that price and even more, but it would seem that you can do better.
You might have a better chance to get a first-hand answer if you also ask on the West Coast forum (under "Regional").
My impression is that people in your area have been getting at least a $500 discount, and sometimes over $1000, but I'm not sure; also, the situation can change over time, and it's possible that it has become harder to get good deals.

That was just last week, in Virginia. Hope you can work a good deal. You should be able to get more than $1000 off MSRP. That was about the opening offer from a few dealers here. I was able to haggle a little more.
good luck, you'll love the car.

We've had some members in Hawaii here in the past, but not in the last few weeks, so there might not be anybody who can give first-hand info right now.
From what we heard in the past, yes indeed, prices in Hawaii were consistently higher than elsewhere.
And from what the Hawaii members said, it seemed that LOTS of things cost more there.
If you want to check out some of that old stuff, you might try doing a search for posts with the key word "Hawaii."
Make sure to click the box to search for "posts" rather than "threads." Either way will work, but it'll be more convenient if you do it for "posts."
i just signed an agreement last night to purchase a tsx, white 6 speed, no navi. i got an "out the door" price of $27768.75. before taxes, title, docs, etc. it was $26,400. this price also includes trunk tray, all weather mats and mud/splash guards. i live in the cleveland/akron, ohio area (sales tax for where i live is 6.75%). i also have a trade-in though, which obviously lowered the taxable cost of the tsx to 18500.

Only read the first page of replies, but I just purchased a brand new (less than 200 miles) TSX w/ the A-Spec package for $28,487 plus T+T at Acura Columbus in Ohio. I have to say that I've dealt with countless different dealerships in the past and this was the BEST dealership I've EVER done business with! First of all I got one hell of a deal on my new TSX and they actually quoted me this price on the phone! Once arriving there I knew there wasn't any room to negotiate on the price of the vehicle so I knew they'd be looking to make money off of my trade-in (2002 Mercury Mountaineer AWD V8). They originally appraised it at $9000 and I told them I wouldn't trade it in for less than $10,000. After about 45 minutes of negotiating the new car depar`ment acutally threw in over $400 just to make the sale. This is the kind of service I expect from a reputable dealership! The used car dept. refused to budge on the price of my trade-in and the new car dept. tossed in the money on their own to make the deal happen. This is the kind of dealership who stands behind their product! I'd like to hear replies from anyone else who has used the Acura Columbus dealership as I find them to be one of the finest auto dealerships I've ever ever dealt with!

Congratulations TSXFreerider on your car and happy buying experienc! Yours is the first post I've read on OTD price for an A-spec.
I had a similar experience when I bought my TSX this past Saturday. I started last week by requesting internet quotes from several local dealerships. Two of the three replied with form letters (with spelling and grammar mistakes), the third (who I eventually bought from) the fleet manager replied personally. After going back and forth a few times on pricing, I chose to buy from the third dealer, Acura of South Bay, because their price was about $1K less than the others! Their fleet manager agreed to do a dealer trade to get the TSX I wanted (he did this over the phone without even asking for a deposit) and I went in on Saturday and had the car in about 3 hours!
The price he quoted was $24953 (including destination charge), for an '05 5AT CG/Ebony no Navi. The car came from the dealer trade with a trunk tray, wheel locks, and mud flaps (which weren't on the original quote). My salesman agreed to give them to me for $195 for all three (I was planning on adding those things later anyways).
So the selling price was $24953 + $195 = $25148. With tax, title, license, and "documentation fee" the out-the-door total was $27409.

Yes I tried negotiating with acura of columbus and lyndsay acura(about 30mi from each other). AoC wouldn't budge on their price matching when I told them Lyndsay would give me the same price and was closer. AoC told me straight out I should go with Lyndsay!!! I couldn't believe they would just give up on a sale because of that! This is NOT the sign of a good dealer if you ask me. So I ended up going with Lyndsay acura for a ABP 6mt w/navi for 27,900 +tax and title and I also recomended someone else to them who bought a tsx the same month!! So AoC lost big time for being inflexible.

Care to explain how you got that deal? Maybe a price breakdown?
hmm. well, i bought my 2004 RSX from the same guy, and when I bought that in august of 2004, i had called around to all the dealers in the DC/MD/VA area (pohanka, rosenthal, chevy chase, and radley acura). i started by going to chevy chase (easiest to get to via the metro, & w/out a car), test drove it, and asked the salesman what his best possible price would be out the door, and he gladly obliged.
the next day i called around to the aforementioned dealers and told them one by one, the best price i was quoted by the previous dealer. pohanka initially gave me the best price, something like around 19,700 out the door, which was a darn good deal. i read that radley was a better dealer to work with, though, and it was certainly closer to me, so i called and gave them that quote, and they said they'd beat it, just come on down.
i test drove the one i wanted (only had like 29 miles on it) and asked for them to reaffirm the price out the door, etc. i think it was like 19,100 out the door, and on top of that, special 2.9% financing at the time. i pounced on it.
fast forward to this past october....
called the same salesman, asked what his best price was, and he didn't really mess around. i called other dealers, and no one could really match it, so i went on down, took it for a spin, had them clear up some things (some of which weren't resolved until 2 or 3 more visits back to the dealer after i had purchased it, but that's in a different thread), and drove it off the lot.
a lot of people got theirs with like 1 or 2 miles on it or whatever. i did not, but i got a damn good deal on a car that only had like 50 miles on it and it wasn't a trashed up automatic demo with thousands of miles on it. i'm pretty happy with the car, although i wish i had waited for an '06 now (would have loved an aux in, fogs, a few extra horses, and bluetooth) but, c'est la vie. all of my friends say i'm the most insatiable person ever, and i suppose it's true. i would venture to guess that i will be selling this car inside of a year, as dumb as that sounds, financially.
anyway, back to the breakdown part.....i've seen people get duped with the classic "how much can you afford to pay per month?" question, and the salesman/finance person will build the price around that. that's the most ass backwards way to do it. i have found that simply calling around, getting the best price possible from internet managers or whatever works very well.
i've heard of services that do that for you for like $200 now, but i'd rather save the $200 and do the legwork on my lunch hour.
after getting my quote from radley, i made one last ditch effort by calling pohanka and telling them the quote, OTD, and the guy said no way, that's a great deal, buy the car from radley.....so i'm convinced i got a pretty damn good deal. by the way, tax is only a little over 3% in VA (which is WAY lower than some other states) but then again, i do have to pay personal property tax on the car every year for as long as i own it.

hi, i am relatively new to this forum, athough I'm an active members of a number of other car forums. I've been lurking for awhile trying to read up on the information, prices, etc. about the TSX.
My fiancee recently decided that she wants a 2006 TSX in Carbon Pearl Gray, 5AT, and Navigation. She is a current leasee of a 2002 Acura RSX and narrowed it down to a TSX from a 325xi, IS250, Legacy 2.5 GT, and Mazda 6.
While we are getting ready to purchase, I wanted to know anyone's advice on purchasing a TSX in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I've done a lot of research and it looks like the average purchase price on the good deals have been anywhere between $28-29k.
1) Has anyone in the Ohio area bought a 2006 and can recommend a dealership?
2) Is the above average price reasonable?
3) Is Carbon Gray a diffcult color to get?
4) Is a better deal going to be obtained before January or after?
Thanks!

Welcome!
That's the same car I have, except a couple of things:
Mine is a 2004 (slight difference). :D
And I'm about 700 miles away.
28K or 29K is significant difference, sort of, because 29 would be just a slight discount from MSRP, but 28 would be >1K off.
We've heard of people getting even more off than that, but I don't know if that's the case in your area, and I'm not sure how representative those discounts are anywhere.
But.......It sounds like you've done good research, and that what you've come up with is likely to be some good deals.
As to whether it's better to wait a little: I don't think anybody ever knows. We sometimes THINK we do, but I don't think it really works that way, because even if it seems pretty definite or obvious that it's better one way or the other, usually other buyers are following the same thing, and that tends to even out the supply/demand equation. (At least that's what I think.)
If I were out there, I'd figure it just according to these two things:
(1) Main thing: How eager or desperate I am for the car. (Really.)
(2) If #1 isn't strong enough to make me go right out and buy, and if I've decided to wait a little bit, I'd wait for a stretch where the weather is LOUSY, and then go and try to make my deal. I'd figure that the dealer wasn't seeing too many buyers that day, and he'd be more willing to "deal."
No idea if that works, but that's what I'd follow.
P.S. You don't say whether those numbers include "destination charge." I assumed NOT.

Thanks for the reply and advice!
To answer your question, my ballpark figure was including destination charge.
Much has happened within the past week and I thought I'd share our story with you.
After doing the legwork in research on this forum and a couple of others, I came up with a ballpark figure to start to negotiate with dealers. We ended up getting a bite with the Acura of Boardman, OH. The sales person took our numbers, asked the manager who proceeded to call back my fiancee. He was flustered at these numbers, asked for the research proof, and claimed that the 2006 TSX was a 'rare' car. Finally she asked what price he would be willing to go down to and we got a number....$28,400 including destination, Nav, and added later...trunk tray.
However, they had to get the TSX from another dealership....turns out somewhere in Penn....then turns out they were going to drive it to OH instead of flat bed it....300+ miles....
Long story short, this was a no go for me, but negotiable with the fiancee. But because we were still waiting for something in writing (after already a $500 deposit), the manager proceeded to backpedal, argue, yell, basically becoming very customer unfriendly, and backed out of the deal.....
I was already skeptical because the dealership already felt a little shady and nothing was in writing but my fiancee learned the hard way about the sometimes disappointing way dealerships do business.
She proceeded to call a couple of other dealerships and go the Suburban Acura dealership in Farmington Hills, MI to match. Since she was going back to that area for XMas this worked out perfectly. Following week she drove out there and filled out all the paperwork, etc. Originally she was going to get Carbon Grey Pearl but found she would have to wait a couple of weeks and ended up with the Deep Green Pearl that they had in the showroom.
End of story, she'll be picking it up today and I'll get to see what green really looks like on the TSX Friday.
Hopefully it'll be a nice XMas present...to herself.
:santa:
UPDATE:
The new TSX was brought back home last Friday, it's been great! The color is actually growing on me. Turns out this car had the trunk tray, wheels locks, and mud flaps already on the car...they took out the trunk tray and left us the wheel locks and mud flaps at no additional cost!

Hey guys i'm new here just got '06 TSX in Royal Blue Pearl non Navi 3 weeks ago paid 30,300 cash tax included. actually talked them down 2k less than what they were asking, I bought the TSX at Jenkins Acura in Ocala Florida.
It came with all season floor mats, trunk tray, splash guard, touch up paint, and Wheel Lock. Not sure if that was a good deal or not since i haven't really done any research before i bought the car, I just moved down here from Chicago and i have to get a new car quickly.
btw they didn't have RBP in the lot the day i went to buy and they had to order from somewhere else. They said it would take 24 hours to a week to get the car. I'm surprised that the next day i got the call and the car came in so i can go pick it up. So far i'm loving the TSX, And Jenkins Acura did a great job they were very friendly there.

'06 A/T W/Navi, Nighthawk Black Pearl with Parchment - $28,8xx + TTL. This car is for my Aunt and I did as much shopping as I could for her as she's never bought a brand new car and I've bought about 5. Due to the fact every dealer I talked to said the NBP w/Parchment was VERY hard to come by, they were not willing to wheel and deal at all. It was take it or leave it. My aunt didn't even want Navi, but was stuck on the color.
Out of curiosity.....
1) How many out there have a NBP w/Parchment?
2) Did you all buy the extended warranty? If so, how much? (We paid $2K)
3) Did anyone get the Touch of Class? If so, how much? (Paid $800)
4) Was anyone given the option to not get the already installed ProPack? (Paid $300)
Did we get hosed? I think out the door was about $35,000 with $15,000 cash down, 72 months @ 6.49% (with over 800 credit score).

For those that are reading through these and are concerned they are getting ripped, you probably aren't. These invoice deals people are getting are few are far between and are probably connected deals.
Who is proud to post their deal if they didn't get invoice like some others here? They would look stupid and not very savy at negotiating. Well, I must be stupid because I got $1,400 over invoice here in Atlanta.
Just purchased a 2006 TSX CGP MT non-navi
$27,400
$28,500 OTD (sales tax less coming out of lease)
My lease trade is where I made up my difference. 6spd made it hard to negotiate. They had 12+ on the lot and only one 6 spd, I looked.
For those with trade-ins still looking, don't believe Kelley Blue Book for a second. Those folks sold out to dealerships years ago. For example on KBB, my old car had a trade-in of $17,500 and a retail of $24,500 and a certified of $26,500. If any dealer makes $7,000-$9,000 (40%-50%) on a used car, I want IN that business! Edmunds or NADA is much more realistic, $20,000-Trade to $24,000-Retail.

Pulled the trigger signed the paperwork and ordered a CGP 2006 TSX 5spd-AT with Navi. The price I'm getting is $28,760 plus TTL......with dealer installed/added protection package (he was going to charge me on this but I was able to get it included with no charge).....I added a wing spoiler and clear bra so it came down to 32,500 OTD seems a bit high.....but that is the best I could do. I played and worked the dealership game (we only had two Acura dealers here in Salt Lake City) and the sales rep wouldn't come down anymore on the price. I expect to get my TSX within 3 weeks or by mid April. ;)

It seems like prices are all over the board. I don't think I got a great deal but it was ok. I had a few dealers tell me they'd go 27500 for an 06 6MT w/o NAV, including the pro package. Well I finally found the color I wanted (Black) and when I did they said, "oh well that car has a $700 steering wheel on it!". It's the optional one with metal on it instead of all leather. jeez...so I had to go back and forth with bargaining on that stupid thing and I just took the car for 27900. What a great steering wheel. I guess. It was either that or wait forever for another black 6MT. I was at Acura of Bellevue and I highly recommend them, they treated me well and spent a lot of time with me going over features and making sure I was happy...and I sure am if I try not to think of the steering wheel.

If you can afford the car go buy it. From everything I hear from people there are a lot of problems finding the perfect tsx. My advice would be to jump on your car if you find it. The dealer knows that this car is in high demand and he does'nt have to discount it, because someone will pay for it. I have sold five 2006 civic si's and not one for less than $3000.00 over MSRP. I tell at least 20 people a week "No thanks" because someone realize that they want that car bad enough to pay for it

You are on a beach and there is a man selling bannanas. He says that has bannanas and they are 3 dollars each.
A mile down the beach there is another man selling bannanas who says he doesnt have any bannanas but he may soon and he will sell you them for 2 dolllars each when they come in, but its not for sure when he will have your bannanas.
good luck with getting your car and if you really don't want the headache like you say, go buy the one that is right in front of you or you may not get it.

that i don't kno, i get confused whether its 28.5 including tax or 28.5 without tax all the time. But if u mean 29k before tax then u could do better. Try waiting till near the end of the month. Thats what i did and i walked away from the first guy i went to who asked for like 29.5K. 3 days later he called begging for me to come back and I BSed him for a deal of 28.5K. Told him to put on a spoiler and i would make it 29k straight. I woulda gotten the damn car if his other salesman didnt already sell it like 5 min before my deal was done. I ended up going back to the dealer i worked out a deal with before he called me back and BSed a deal with them to 28.6. Originally they wanted 28.8. but if you're talking about 29K with ttl included, i think thats a pretty good deal, depending on how many acura dealers are around your way and how many TSXs they have too.

Made my rounds today in Northern CA, here's what I got:
2006 CGP w/navi 6MT at Autowest/Stevens Creek Acura for $27,500, not incl TTL
This was a wicked price, but I just didn't want navi, so I went looking for another. (If you do, they still have a couple in stock, the boy to talk to is Patrick. Nice kid.)
Mike Harvey Acura blows. They dissed Autowest for dealing such a low price, and then proceeded to tell me that they couldn't even guarantee that they could come below that price for a non-navi.
Called Hopkins Acura, they were at least polite, and said they couldn't compete.
Concord Acura quoted me a $27,451 for the same car without navi (before TTL).
Serramonte Acura gave me their first quote at $26,300. I could've haggled down to $26,000 even, but I figured that they deserved the extra $300 bucks for the quality of service. It rocked. Call them up and and ask for Dan Vong. Another nice kid. Tries really hard.
My breakdown then:
Base price $26,300
Doc prep fee $45
License fees $234
Tax (8.25%) 2173.46
Total, out the door: 28761.21
I'm pretty happy, and have a sweet ride sitting outside. Now I just gotta polish up the Prelude SH and post it for sale. (May she find a happy home.)

That's an awesome price! I have a couple of questions...
Did you do this all over the phone?
Did the dealers actually have the car you wanted in stock, or are they bringing it in from elsewhere?
Thanks!

That doesn't make any sense.
$32,281 @ 10.9% APR for 66 months = $652.43 per month. Did you have a trade-in or put a bunch of money down that you didn't mention?

well i just got back from my local dealership to find out whats goin on with the one i ordered. the PWP/parch 6MT w/ navi that they were tryin to get me seems impossible to get.
after waiting for 3 months (combined from 2 dealers i dealt with) i settled on a 5AT instead. i drove it again and told myself ill still be happy. after selling my camry about a month ago ive been driving my dads car and leaving him with nothing to drive (we live in different cities). i decided its not fair to him and have been feeling bad for having it so long.
well i am now just waiting for the car to get here from CO. so in a couple days ill be driving a new TSX.
my payments are high but i added the extended warranty and paint sealant which i can have reapplied for free whenever i want along with the gap coverage and what not.
with 16200 down im paying 450 a month for 60 months. with my credit i wasnt able get a longer finance period. oh well im happy.

Double edged sword. on one hand CONGRATS! You're gonna love driving a TSX, however on the other hand, i'm sorry you had to settle with 5AT rather than the 6MT you wanted. They didn't have it ANYWHERE? Did you try another dealership?
In my situation, i went to SEVEN different dealerships to get what i wanted, but it was only a 4 day process. I contacted like 9 dealerships, and ended up going to 7.
What did you pay for the car for you payments being so high? I paid $27,600 plus TTL for a Blk/Parchment Auto w/Navi, and with ZERO down my payments are $565.

well tonight i changed my financing. goin to end up with USAA with my parents as the primary and myself secondary. so ill be able to go 72 months and with a interest rate of about 5% or less. tuesday the car will be delivered and ill be driving it home.
ive also decided not to get GAP and the paint sealant. the sealant i can do myself whenever i want.
i should be back down to about $300 or so. i was pleasantly surprised with the cost of insurance. with $500 deductible and full glass and what not, its $770 every 6 months. not bad considering i have a reckless driving on my record from about 4 years ago along with a couple license suspensions because of it.

Negotiated car price over the internet btw two dealerships, then worked on the trade-in value once at the dealership. Very happy with the experience, sales person was easy to work with and I was satisfied with the final price.

Okay, I need to see if I got jacked or not! So bare with me, I'm not car savvy let alone negotiating things! haha I actually had my dad do all the negotiating..hehe Actually, it became a family affair. I had my dad with me along with my uncle (who gave me a family discount from his company) and his family! hahahaa Everyone was more excited to get the car than I was! hahaha
I bought my car (3 days after my bday..hehe bday present to myself :grinno: ) back in May of '05. The MSRP on the car was 27k. I got it with navi. No down payment. And out the door at 30k including taxes and fees. I pay $488.01 a month for 72 months and I think my rate was about 5%. I got financing through my bank instead of getting jacked from the dealership! haha So, is this reasonable or am I paying too much?! Thanks!
P.S. The manager for that dealership was an a$$hole! He tried to make me pay more for my tax and licensing fee. If it weren't for the salesman and my uncle, my dad probably would've kicked his a$$! hahahahahaha  Lets just say I gave him a bad remark on the dealership survey! hahaha

Hmmmmm...w/o the navi...it is a bit! I've heard of other people getting something cheaper! Then again, it also is based on location, so I guess that's okay! I got mine 30k OTD and with nav! Of course, I put zero down with 5.2% financing from my credit union!

I think you can definitely do better. When I was looking in July in the Bay Area, I had no problems getting pricing for non-navi's for a bit under $28000 OTD. I even checked with Tustin and Mission Viejo - their pricing was even more competitive. :grinno:

Just got back from the dealer. Got the model I wanted. 2006 TSX/Auto/Navi. Silver/Ebony
Price with destination was $27,461. Total price with tax was about $29,800. We turned down the free pinstripe offer.
Does anybody know the version of the latest Nav DVD? Has the new one been released yet? The dealer said they'd upgrade it if there's a newer one available.

Got mine yesterday from Acura of Concord. 06 CG Auto Navi for $27,700. Prolly could have gotten it for less if I wanted to play back and forth, but I used the internet manager and was in and out of there in under 3 hours including working my trade. I'd rather spend the weekend enjoying my new ride!
I got my NBP automatic with navi a few months ago, but have been kinda busy. Anyways, off the showroom floor at Autowest Stevens Creek, so I didn't really get to choose my options. Came with the permaplate, rearwing spoiler, mudflaps, allweather mats and a couple other peripherals.
27,600 initially
32K out the door.

Hey, thought I'd post my experience. Just took home a Glacier Blue TSX 5-speed Automatic WITH Navigation. Since tax, tags and fees are different everywhere, I'll just post the negotiated price. I don't know if it's a good deal, but I got it for:
$26,130
Then add tax, tags, freight and fees... It's the leftover 2006s, brand spanking new with only 7 miles on it.

Feck thats cheap! The 06 in Canada goes for $40,000 before tax, freight, etc.
40,000.00 CAD = 35,145.16 USD
I would have imported one, but the MpH on the speedo would bug me too much. Although, now that I think about it, I could prolly replace the speedo to a CDN one for a fraction of the cost difference and still be way ahead. DoH! :tard:

Agreed to buy a '06 TSX, CGP/Quartz with AT and NAVI for $26,967. I tried to go lower, but they wouldn't budge off that price, and I figured saving $3K off the '07 was worth it especially since I got the color I wanted (although that green is very attractive) and they threw in the mats, including the trunk mat, and free oil changes as long as I own the car.
Thought about going with the non-navi but after reading members here regret not getting the navi, i went for it.
Now I just need to pick up the car (I'm out of town) in a week, and get Sirius installed in it. Anybody know the dimensions of the CD cubby off hand?
Too bad tax where I live (ATL) is a brutal 7%!
