I can't wait to see it at the NAIAS in January. Is this going to be based of the CR-V?:donno:

That looks cool. Is it similar in size to the CR-V?

... powered by an engine with more than 200 horsepower... it will be a new design
Looks like it might not be the TSX engine - unless they lied about the IMA thing and they consider IMA as a new design.
The RD-X has no outside mirrors. Instead, a driver sees what’s around the vehicle via cameras. ... Another innovative feature on the RD-X is the lack of windshield wipers. Officials said rain is whisked off the glass by air jets positioned at the base of the windshield.
Isn't that what the TL concept had?
In the center of the dashboard is an integrated hard drive that can be loaded with a personal music library.
Interesting - so Honda/Acura is going for the digital music car?

i'd rather have tried-n-true mirrors rather than cameras to save the $

I would bet that the production version has mirrors. Im not sure if the world is ready to trust cameras for rear view mirrors yet.

concept is pretty cool... nice mini-MDX, with sporty youthful lines...
Let's see how it translates in the production RDX.
Junkster, who likes the use of SHAWD... now if it would just be on all the cars in the lineup

This model will have over 200 hp, perhaps the proposed engine will be the TSX 2.4 liter 200 hp / 166 lb-ft engine with an IMA driving the rear wheels The IMA would be good for 50 hp and probably 100 lb-ft making a total of 250 / 260. It was also said that this car will have SH-AWD.

Consumer Guide (http://http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/editorial/features/index.cfm/act/detroitautoshow2005#RD-X) Acura's been playing catch-up in the luxury game these past two years. During that time the company introduced three new sedans, the TSX, TL and RL. Now, Acura is looking to enhance the brand's sport-utility lineup. The Acura RD-X concept that was unveiled at the Detroit show is a thinly veiled prototype of a sport-ute the company will introduce in 2006. The RD-X concept is seven inches shorter than the midsize Acura MDX and is based on a completely new light truck platform. Acura would not comment on what type of engine was under the hood but said it would make at least 200 hp and be mated to Acura's innovative Super-Handling AWD system. First seen on the 2005 Acura RL, SH-AWD can shift power from front to back and left to right to enhance handling in dry, wet, and snowy conditions. Unique RD-X features include a wiperless windshield that uses air to clear the windscreen on rainy days, 19-inch wheels, a Sky-roof panel, and side-view cameras that eliminate the need for outside mirrors. The interior includes a computer hard drive instead of the conventional CD drive. This would place an owner's entire music collection within the touch of a button. Acura would not comment on pricing, but did say that the production RD-X would be built in Ohio and appear in showrooms in 2006.
