For me personally I love racing games.. and when it comes to Racing Simulators...
I think there is nothing better than Gran Turismo! Now, GT4 is almost soon to be coming out in North America.. but it has been out in Asia for a while now. While the wait is on for GT4 howerever, Xbox has come out with it's own GT type game called Forza.
I have seen both games because I have a friend from Malaysia that was able to let me play theses games...
What do you think though? What are your favourite racing games??

Favorites:
Definately the Gran Tourismo series...
Have project gotham 2 for XBox...game is not even comparable to GT3 IMO
For the PC I love Nascar Racing 2003... I've got quite a few mods to the game that let me use Indy cars and LeMans cars...and of course I get to race them at Nurburgring :woot:

Here are my favorite racing games.
GT1, GT2, Road & Track Presents: the Need for Speed, NFS: High Stakes, NFS: Hot Pursuit 2.
GT3 I didn't like that much even though graphics were better, I felt it was a step backward from what GT2 was.:(
I am waiting for GT4 to come out whenever it finally does come out!

Xbox has come out with it's own GT type game called Forza.
it's called Forza.. seems like they've done a good job on it.... however, GT4 has a lot more than GT3. For one thing there is a mode in it called Bspec, where you can become the owner of a Racing Team and make descisions on what the team does.. and stuff like that. It's quite cool actually, and there are races where you can win 'Important cars from the past'. There is even a Steam powered Car..lol, one of the first 'automobiles' ever!

GT4 ... Period ... I'm moving close to 75% completion. No complains from me, very technical and requires brains this time round unlike previous GT series.

So, Noel, how's the AI this time around? Are they still plug stupid? I'm really eager for the US release.
Stupid, no ... You'd be in for a rude shock to think so. AI is aggressive especially when running at handicap/tougher challenges.

Yep, this is true.... in GT3 all you had to do was modify your car till it had like 700bhp or something like that, and you could win any race by a large gap. In GT4 however, it's not as simple.. I like the challenge more than previous games.

How is the collision detection? I heard they changed it from previous games. Players would usually side swipe the opponent cars to help make turns and such, also, wall bashing to make turns. Is it true they went to the "Ridge Racer" style of collision?:donno:
Nah, not that lame. But if you purposely run someone out, you'd get a time penalty instantly slowing you down. Still works if you get the timing right especially at tracks that will cause severe damage or make the AI go stupid. But if you try to drive by "sticking on the wall", prepare to close your eyes when you do it and just point at the direction. It actually works out easier that way especially on the Korean track.

It's wholesale shipping date is the 22nd which means that they may not get it from the distributor until that afternoon or evening. So don't light the molotov until the 23rd.
Yeah EB always shows shipping dates, the games are always in the store the day after the shipping date. However, for games like Halo 2 and San Andreas they have opened their doors at midnight when they are legally allowed to do so.

Well, I got mine last night and played for about 4 hours, late.
It's... different. Better in many ways, worse in a few others. Traction is way reduced and I had a controller setup that was screwed up, which wasn't helping. That I can cure.
Some of the new tracks are very very good. Some look kind of meh. I've golded 11 of the 16 B license tests and silvered the rest. You get prizes for all levels of license now so I have 2 cars in the garage without spending a dime.

ive been playin gt4 for the last 3 days in canada. pretty fun, i bought a TSX and turboed it, among other mods. it went from 16.xxx seconds to 14.6xx in the quarter mile with 350 horsepower
hahaha, that aint right, anyways, turned out to really suck, so im racing with a second hand 1990 supra that does laps faster than my 100 grand tsx. bad design
