As per the other thread - Please vote, and we'll go with the outcome

It would make it impossible to come to the site at work...

:sprint: and I don't want to have to turn off pics every time I want to come here while at work.

So you are saying that you do not like it as now JJ?
The question came from the other thread, asking about avatar's/sig's such as HondaMan's/Noel's previous sig's.
I am not asking to allow more NWS material, yet if we should not allow it as now.
Meaning all Avatar's/Sig's would have to be WS

It is fine as it is now....
I can look at the threads that are not labeled NWS at work, with Avatars it would basically cut out any of that..

Ok, so you answer then would be the first. Which should have read "Keep it as is"

Ok, I changed your vote JJ.
HondaMan, should I change yours as well (as you sig is one of the ones in question)?

I think it's GREAT that you're getting people's opinions. I seem to remember that "elsewhere" some people (not to mention any names) :D got in a heap of trouble for suggesting that members' views be taken about stuff.
Whatever the outcome, I think this is totally great.
I voted no, for the reasons explained on the other thread -- meaning that I think we should CHANGE the current policy, i.e. make it more restrictive.
But I don't feel 100% about it. As I said on the other thread, I wouldn't even have brought it up unless someone else did, but yes indeed, it's pretty clear that the presence of NWS avatars/sigs keeps some people away from the site while at work, WHICH PROBABLY MAKES THEM COMES TO THE SITE LESS AT OTHER TIMES TOO.
(Sorry for the screaming -- just trying to recruit some more "no" votes.) :D
Within the last couple of days, we've had a couple of members -- GREAT AND IMPORTANT members -- mention that the current policy has made them avoid the site when they would have liked to be here. Not to get hysterical about it, but we have no way of knowing how many other people have been affected similarly, and it's probably a lot.
OTOH of course, it's possible that the "controversial" avatars/sigs get a lot of people to be on the site who wouldn't if the avatars/sigs were more bland.
Plus of course we need to take into account that a lot of people just like the freedom to have whatever avatars/sigs they want. And besides, more generally speaking, the site has been doing great, so right there, it means we don't HAVE TO make any changes.
Still, putting it all together, IMO it's more important to have it be easily possible for people to be on the site whenever they want. Just the two people that we know of, who said they were kept away, are enough for me. And I think they're probably just the tip of an iceberg.
P.S. Thanks again for asking.

I vote no becuase:
I get tired of switching my options back and forth every day...
no more forgetting to change my options every day (unless I don't visit that day)...
damn...I guess I'm a party pooper :p

I didn't have a problem w/ HondaMan's Elektra avatar, but I have sigs turned off during work just in case anything else that was inappropriate (Noel's sig picture and -phase-'s old avatar), and its been okay. I say keep it as it is now.

BTW, just another IMO:
I would offer the thought that the staff doesn't necessarily have to follow the voting results strictly.
And I'm not saying this just because "my" side is losing right now. :D
In fact, if anything, just the opposite -- if "No" wins, I don't think the staff should feel bound to those numbers.
I personally would trust the staff to take all the input however they want, and make a decision.
Along that line, I think it would be good for people to say a few words about the issue if they feel like it, besides voting.

I say keep it as it is. BUT, if its preventing members from posting while at work, then get rid of nws avatars I say. It just T&A, its not like we cant view it anywhere else...
Personaly, I dont care, I control everything at my work :D

If it stays as it is.
Which is the point.
But as I said -- I can see it either way.
I wouldn't mind a more restrictive policy at all, but the current no-nipples-or-pubes policy is acceptable. It would indeed be safer if it was more conservative, but I can't say I'd surf more from work than I currently do.
