I used the eibach pro kit
it dropped it 1.9 in the front and 1.4 in the rear

Ride quality is good, but on the rear passenger side i have a clanking sound when i hit a bump. We checked and retightened everything but couldn't find out what was causing it. ??????

Its never rubbed at all. Even loaded w/ 5 good sized people.

The tires are 235/35/19. The wheels are a high 45mm offset cus they are 8" wide. The tire size is only .02 inches taller than factory so it's a perfect fit.

I have a black on black TSX also. I wanted to do a couple of things with it, I have tinted my windows, but i don't want to go crazy so that it looks like it came out of the Fast and the Furious. Your whip looks hot, because the mods aren't extreme and it still has a classy look about it. The 19" rims didn't disable the VSA or anything? I don't want to mess up the ride quality. Did you lower the car before or after adding the rims? And, would putting 19" be enough to minize the gap in the wheel well, which is too much i think.

SO when you make a hard turn does not rub ??? DAMM nice :D

where did you get the rims I was quoted $1699 installed I am lookin for good price...

did it make the car lot heavier to pick up speed??? for what I know the factory 17" are heavy I am not sure how much of a diff 19" would make ...

would it make the car lot slower???

i got them shipped with tires to my house for $1950.00
didn't notice a difference in pickup tho. the 19's are about the same weight if not a little lighter. Didn't make the car slower

Thanks for the comp. No the VSA still works, Even though I don't like it. Yes i did lower it before i got my wheels. No the 19's didn't change the fender gap at all. the difference in height between stock and 19" is only .02 inches. Eibach seems to drop it perfectly.

One possible explanation for this noise is; since the Eibachs are progressive rate springs, they have dead coils, which are closely spaced together coils (stock springs are evenly spaced) they might rub against each other causing the metal clanging noise. This can be remedied by using some type of rubber cushioning to wrap the coils.
Another possible solution is, if for some reason, you loosend your swaybars, maybe the endlinks weren't tighten enough. That's likely to cause a regular interval of thumping noise.

hey thanks for the info. ill try wrapping the springs and ill check out the sway bar. I really dont think it's a loose sway bar tho cus i never loosened that bolt. I'll let you know the results.

I just remembered why I want to get a Black Tsx. Because it looks so much nicer than any of the other colors. So what if it is so hard to keep clean. And these pictures probably don't do the car justice. It is probably much nicer in person.

I have never been impressed with the TSX's body in the other colors. But for some reason, in black, all my reservations go away. By the way, a Black TSX at night is so nice looking.

larchmont

Yes. A couple of weeks ago, coming out from a restaurant we saw a black TSX parked right in front, shining nicely in the street lighting. I was transfixed (good word :D ) -- just stood there for half a minute or so, staring at it.

I think you might like some of the other colors too, if you have a chance. I got the Carbon Gray, not because it was my first choice but because it was a color that I could get FAST.
It took me about 2 minutes to love it.
And it looks different depending on the lighting, maybe also your mood -- and every look is super cool.

i got an arctic blue one. It surprised my wife as my previous car was black..

larchmont
02-10-2004, 11:24 PM
Arctic blue is what I would have picked if I could have gotten it fast.
But I'm glad now that I got the CG.

Love 'em both.

The only TSX color that I'd recommend that people might avoid is the Milano Red. Sometimes it looks great, but IMO sometimes it makes you feel like that color belongs on some other car.

How are your tires wearing?Did you have to get a camber kit?And was it able to get align? Please let me know because im thinking about dropping mine too..

Not feeling the rims. I would paint the rims black with polished lip to make it look real good.
