Looks very nice. Are they planning on incorporating some kind of water bypass valve to prevent hydrolocking?

PROJECTSX
09-03-2003, 09:16 PM
no need for that in cali and the valve only works if you were in 12 in of water

Dyno looks promising! 11+hp is definitely welcome. Gain is throughout the powerband above 3k rpm which is good. Power loss below 3K rpm is evident, although minimal.

i am starting a list and dont you want to be one of the first . i dont have any pricing yet or time. i will keep you posted as soon as injen get me more info.

When can I get this intake, I have been looking for one for a while! Can youu feel a difference in the torque band?

PROJECTSX
09-13-2003, 03:46 PM
i post the dyno print out on page one you feel the torque in the mid range. i pulls strong . i am still waiting on info from injen for release date and price. but i will let you know asap and as soon as it is avalible i will do a group buy.

stock tsx with cold air, revved to 7800+rpm? no additional fuel pressure required? is stock ecu and injectors compensating for the extra air?

PROJECTSX
09-17-2003, 03:49 PM
yes yes and yes. well its stock now but i talked to some companies like hondata and they dont have any ecu upgrades. i will keep checking . i think the ecu and the injectors are made (the stock ones) to handle more air and adjust to that. the factory always give themselfs room to work with for more power.

how much hp thus it actually add? what benefits do I get?

I talked to Phillip at Ingen... he said the A/F read 13:1. So stock injectors and ecu are compensating well enough.... i wonder how much that will change with exhaust and ex manifold swap.

This CAI looks cool, may have to get one.
But will it void the warranty?

PROJECTSX
09-18-2003, 12:32 PM
i dont think so but to be on the safe side i would put the stock intake back on and them give it to the dealer.

PROJECTSX
09-18-2003, 02:39 PM

i have a custom cold air built at enginuity in san diego i also have custom 2.5 exhaust i will dyno soon to see if i have some gains but 11 sounds good i wanna test the injen vs the custom

PROJECTSX

is your s auto or 6 spd. i am going to do an exhaust in the near future but 2.5 in sounds abit to big .

Jrock
09-22-2003, 08:29 PM
whats the stock size of the exhaust

PROJECTSX
09-23-2003, 12:53 PM
i dont know for sure but usually 2in or smaller

AcuraTSX03
09-28-2003, 12:39 AM
i was pretty sure that the stock size of the exhaust on the tsx was 3.5 in... i may be wrong though

Jrock
09-28-2003, 05:34 PM
is 3.5 in the exhaust tubing? sounds like tip because 3.5 tubing would be huge

Injen CAI's should be at your local Acura dealer today or tomorrow. Price is close to 300.00 dollars. Acura is an authorized INJEN dealer so the prices should be fair. Your warranty will not void if they install it for you (even though CAI's are easy to install. I don't know the labor cost because know you has installed one yet!

stock exhaust is 3inch at the collector then it goes down to 2.25 then it shrinks down to 1.5 which is killin it on the high end i went in the middle with 2.5 from the 3 inch collector and the 2.25 exhaust tubing. now im ready for my NOS or forced induction....

So, anybody got some non-R&D pics of this CAI installed? Did we ever have a group-buy or something for this CAI? If not, where is the best price for it currently? :)

Well, I would have installed it Friday if AutoWave's 600HP CRX had not been on the dyno
Joker - who has pic's, and video (need a host for the vid though) of the dyno if anyone is interested
