"You've seen the vehicles at the auto show. Now experience over 150 of the hottest new cars, trucks and SUVs on the planet from behind the wheel at the AutoShow in Motion. Test drive the exciting General Motors family of vehicles and then compare them with Honda, Ford, Toyota, BMW, Chrysler, Lexus, Dodge, Mercedes and more too numerous to name.
One minute you're stepping on the accelerator of a Corvette® down a performance course, the next you're taking a HUMMER® H2® off-roading. If the vehicle can do it, we're going to prove it!
And you can do it all with no pressure to buy, so there's nothing to slow you down. The only thing we want you to do is drive what you like and have a great time doing it. Plus, it's all complimentary--we'll even provide snacks, beverages and parking! AutoShow in Motion – The world's only auto show where we hand you the keys."
sounds like something fun to do...

I've been to these Autoshow in Motion events they've had back in Missouri. Its quite fun you get to beat on a bunch of cars, mostly GM cars, but they have competitor cars such as Acura TSX, Acura TL, Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Chrysler 300, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Titan, MB C320, BMW 5 series, etc.
They also include a free lunch, be sure to bring along a friend and a video camera! Best of all this event is FREE.

They let you drive the Corvette, but you'll have to first drive a car like an Impala or Accord to get stamped...then you can hop in the vette. Same goes with driving the H2, you'll need to drive a truck or SUV. Oh yeah, one word of advice, don't drive the manual vette cuz the person sitting next to you won't let you drive beyond second gear. '
The Pontiac GTO was fun, and no one sitting beside you. 1blue1.gif

So did anyone from here goto this GM event? I'll have to wait until August for this to come here. Would like to know what cars they had this year and anything new?
I went to the M-Class Road Rally event today here in town, it was fun!

I attended the event in Cleveland this weekend. The earlier in the day you go the more fun you will have because of small crowds. You've gotta drive the Cadillac CTS-"V". Yeah, I'm really suggesting you drive a Cadillac because it comes only with the 5.7 liter V8 and a 6-speed manual tranny. This is the power train from last years top of the line vette they told me. It is fast and yes they will only let you take it up to 2nd gear on the performance course but hey...they say it will easily do 70MPH in second gear.
One of the comparison cars in the luxury tent was a TSX, at least there was when I first got there. An hour and a half later it was gone from the line-up. Perhaps because the line waiting to drive it was far longer than the line for any of the GM cars. :)

I went to the Nassau Coliseum on the first day. Pretty good deal for a time killer with my kids and completely free (including a hot dog/soda for each of us...) They had a place for kids to play, face painting/balloons so it was fun for the 5 year old. They also set kids up in car seats (incl even the Hummer drive!) so they can drive along.
Hummer was fun, up a ~15 foot steep pile of dirt and then taking about a 7 ft pile with just the 2 driver side wheels (really felt pretty far sideways!). Of course tempted to pull a "Fear Factor" type stunt, but only Slow and Steady and chaperoned, but pretty cool nonetheless. One guy took a regular GM car and knocked over a couple of cones while hitting the gas ad immediately escorted out (if your'e gonna do that, at least do it in a worthwhile car and go out with a bang...)
The GTO was the best part for me cause I never made it to the performance area where the vette was. Drove a bright yellow (my daughter's fave color) 6 speed GTO and it sounded awfully cool (nice growl...) And it was nice to drive a stick again.
Drove a few pickups and a few other forgettable GM cars.
Going early on the weekday worked out great as no lines - I imagine weekend is much busier/longer which would really take the fun out of it.
oops, got to get back to work... hehe. CEO just walked in...
