I went to Circuit City tonight. Had gone to one location to pick up a SanDisk Ultra II 512 CF card for my wife's camera, and they were out, so they sent me to the next location. They proceeded to give an SD card by mistake, and I didn't notice till I got home. So I had to go BACK out to the second one to correct the mistake.

At this point I am driving in a bit of a hurry.

I roll to a stop sign at the same time as the aforementioned GS 300 AWD..I would have liked to have gone first, but he rolled through from my right side, and proceded in the same direction as me. So now I am behind him, and while I'm not exactly tailgating him, I'm fairly close, and I'm holding gear, hoping he will realize I am in a hurry and keep the pace up.

He doesn't really drive fast at all, until he gets down to the point in this road where it becomes very twisty. All of a sudden, there's a puff from his exhaust, and he's off full throttle into the twisties.

This is a mistake for him, because with my Tein FLEX coilovers, Comptech rear sway and Yokie ES100s, my grip far exceeded his. I could hear his tires squealing whiles he's sawing away at the wheel, and his car was leaning tremendously and understeering badly. In the meantime, my car feels like it is going straight, no lean, no squeal, no drama. I am all over him, with no effort. He eventually dialed back when he realized he wasn't going to be pulling away......

Poor guy, he probably thought he bought a good handling car :D......

Hah! That's so funny! You probably had him doubting himself and his ride all the way home!

we're all forgetting something here.

Lexus doesn't build hard-biting cars.

if anything, the new GS AWD is mainly for a "slight" edge in handling and also to follow a trend of AWD popularity (RL SHAWD, being one). Their suspension setups are usually softer than a BMW or Acura, more forgiving, and less tuned toward performance, but for comfort. and you also forgot--the GS is a BIT heavier than the TSX, and a BIT larger in every dimension.

Judging from the way he was handling the car, I'm sure he's not a performance oriented driver in the first place.

But, if you could have seen the way he mashed the throttle as we hit the turns, I'm sure he was was thinking his new AWD car was going to sail through and leave me in the dust......

I certainly know we're not dealing with a S4 or an M3 here even though we're approaching the same $$ range.......
