i had a small fender-bender some 2-months ago where an old hag backed-up
into me and messed up the Acura front grill. i had the body shop order a mugen grill. Well it came today and they say it is unpainted and in 2 parts.
I can understand that it needs painting, but does it sound correct being in 2 parts? anyway, my car is arctic Blue pearl. What do the members think about the grill being black with the cromeish tip on the hood done in a matching Arctic Blue Pearl?

As you can see, the lower surround should be painted body color. The upper cross bar should be black. And the chrome trim piece on the hood should be body color as well. Note the JDM radiator cover as well, which mates correctly with the grill-the USDM cover does not line up.

They've also got the hood trim available pre-painted for $54, but since you're already having the grill painted anyways, it'd probably be cheaper just to paint the stock one.......

I heard bad things about painting that chrome piece into color, it will ship off eventually..... you can always leave it chrome, some members here did it.....
check out the thread on the toronto meet, the black TSX there got the mugen grill with the chrome piece~

so will the mugen grille not fit with the stock radiator cover?

it'll fit with the stock rad cover but just not that great of fitment


I have the mugen grill on my car and did leave the chrome trim on my hood, it doesnt look that bad

if you want to see what the grill looks like on an ABP, then hanve a look at my pics thread pics (http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4707) .....as you see the crossmember was painted black to blend in

You probably need to sand it and prime it first...
