its been know that the TSX has dashboard and even door rattles. My TSX had these problems when I bought it over 2 years ago. The dealer maybe able to remove some of the rattling, but it may come back.

Yep, I just purchased mine a few weeks ago and have the same problem. I hear the rattle from the passenger area (glovebox). Any suggestions?

3M foam adhesive tape will stop this rattling from the glove box. I had this problem a while back, the cause of the rattling is from the glovebox door rubbing against the wall line of the dashboard (glovebox area). Add the foam tape will reduce the contact between these two parts and get rid of the rattling.

if you're getting rattles with the door panels, bring it back b/c i believe there is a bulletin for acura to add foam to the doors..that's what i had done

I have them too. I also picked up a rental Accord and it rattles like Russian submarine. Scary. What is up with Honda?

I've had my TSX sine mid-June and was able to pinpoint two similar yet distinct rattles.
First one was coming from the moonroof, when closed but with the shade open.
Second was coming from the dash, but wasn't able to pinpoint it.
I brought mine back to the dealership. They fixed the moonroof rattle by securing the moonroof with some EPT sealer according to the invoice they gave me. The dash rattle that I couldn't find was actually coming from the glovebox like people have mentioned here. The woman at the counter told me that Honda just came out with a notice on July 20th saying they know of it but do not have a fix for it yet. But they now have my VIN on file and know to contact me when they do have a fix and said they will take care of it...
So maybe not the best news, but not the worst either since Acura is willing to fix, and will own up to problems they know exist even if they done have a fix... Long story short, bring it back to the dealership and they will help, they know of these rattles....

I also have the glove box rattle, I beleive it's actually comming from wires vibrating behind the box, I will investigate more and post a solution.

As for door rattles, I located the source of some very annoying rattles,
each door has a small black plastic plate behind the handle to open the door.
remove this plate and you will see two screws the back of the plate is waffle shaped and you can roll some small piece of electrical tape, position close to where the screws are and then put the plate back on, this will make a huge difference!

I picked up my car from the dealership the other day to fix a poping noise at the back area, and not even a week it came back.
I read somewhere on this forum that someone had the same problem and he found out it was the rear sway bar, so I told the mechanic to check the sway bar but I guess he didn't check it but instead they did a adjustment in the front right pillar which was making a rattle too.

Please see my post in the forum. I had severe popping noises in the trunk.

It required two days of rewelding from the back seat and strut areas to remove the noise. problem has been resolved.

yes, the rattle/pop in the trunk.

i'm still trying to figure out where the noise is exactly coming from.

apparently, there are many owners that are hearing the same noise from the rear...

hmm...i need to get this checked.

from other owners, the noise may be from loose rear end-links (whatever that may be), the rear parcel shelf (i'm not so sure if that's what's causing the noise in my car though), and, like you mentioned, rear sway bar.

i would rather try to solve the problem myself before sending it to acura. just less headaches for me given my schedule...

I get pop-type noises from the trunk too but i always thought it was the yellow straps banging against the thin metal bars. Try flicking the straps against the bars and see if that's the same sound you guys hear. You may not be able to get rid of it, but at least you'll have peace of mind knowing it's not some mechanical failure?

so i tried swiping the yellow straps towards the folding seat mechanisms. they do make noises, but i'm not sure if that is the noise i hear. i hear more of a light "pop" (i'm assuming you're hearing the same thing too).

nothing more i can do. i'll just take it to the dealer when i have some time...

I was the one that posted that. Having severe popping noise from under trunk area 1 month after installing Comptech Rear Sway bar. Have been to dealership twice r/e this. Still not fixed. Mechanic said it wasn't the spot weld issue - blamed the rear sway - replaced end links still no better. Told me I would have to live with this b/c of bar size. I am going back in 1.5k miles at next oil change time and addressing this again.

On my first drive to work in my new TSX, I heard an annoying rattle coming from the passenger side B pillar, next to the front passenger seat. I finally figured out it was the seat belt buckle knocking against the pillar! It gets stuck in a weird position between the seat and the pillar every time a passenger releases the seatbelt and knocks against the wall. I have to reposition the buckle manually to prevent it from making noise. Oh well, at least I don't have to play "What's that noise?" with the passenger anymore.

Any updates on the trunk rattle guys?

I was at Acura Woodbine yesterday and they did nothing. They claimed to have "moved" some stuff in the trunk but the popping noise is there still.

On a side note, I complained about a small crack on the passenger seat leather (I hardly ever have passengers) and they told me they replaced the seat. I come home and check, and they simply glued or put some sort of bond or leather repair substance over it. They didn't have my work bill done but will be mailing to my house, i'm going to take a good look at that and raise some hell.

Oh yeah, they gave me Hyundai Accent as a loaner for the day. WTF.

Tried WD-40'ing the mentioned area, didn't do much. I wasn't sure where exactly to fill up, so I ended up spamming the stuff in the gap between the metals. Am I supposed to go deep with the stuff?
(uh, sure sure fill-in your homo joke *here*)

I don't think my noise is coming from the suspension, as I had my buddy listening for the sound while we drove w/ the folding seat down. He thought the noise was coming from the upper metal chunk as well, but couldn't pin point it.

is the pillar noise like a buzzing sound? i know there is some noise in my car from the passenger side, some faint buzzing noise, but I can't pinpoint it. i always thought it was from the passenger seat since I only hear it when i don't have a passenger.

btw, wd-40 in the trunk joints completely removed the popping noise. i haven't heard the trunk popping noise in over a year now.

I tried everything that's mentioned in the thread w/o success.

Guess what Dinu,

I don't know if your problem is from same source as mine, but I believe I found the cause for my problem.

I was checking/readjusting the height and I noticed that rear passenger side strut was moving a little without much force at all. I tried the same thing for the other side, but it barely moved with lots of force.

Again, I checked the bottom-end and top-end of the strut assembly to the knuckle and to the body, they were screwed down solid. That left me to suspect one possibility. The strut rod(?) that moves in and out of the strut assembly as spring compresses/uncompresses is not just moving up and down but also moving sideways a bit creating all the problems. (of course moving up and down is not as intended, thus creating the noise)

This explains why I couldn't adjust the height with ease and at the same height, the locations of the springs seats at the back end was so much different. I guess the strut rod couldn't go in as smoothly since it was bent or damaged.

Also I had a metal creaking sound when I put additional load on the problematic strut (lifting the rear driver side of the car etc.) I thought it was a noise from chassis flexing but I guess it was the strut that's making the noise.

How should go about getting it fixed/warranted? Do I contact the seller first or do I go directly to H&R (Canada, America or Germany?) How long does it take to get a new one from them? I will be going to Korea for 3 wks in July and I hope I can deal with it within that period. As for a month I am here in Canada, I am debating whether I should drive slowly or just take bus metro walk.
