View Full Version : Tint Causes Rattle

So I took my TSX in a 2nd time for my latest rattle & they told me that it was caused by the tint -- has anyone else had this problem? They said bc my tint runs to the top of the window, it is rubbing against the running-something (forgot what they called it but it is the black part at the top of the window).
They then showed me another TSX where the tint stopped about an inch from the top. When the window is up, you could never tell it was not completely tinted but when he lowered the window, you could see where it stopped.
Does this sound right to anyone else or is that just their way of saying we cannot figure out how to stop the rattle so we are gonna put the blame on someone else?http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/ed/smileok.gif
Thanks!

I just drove the TSX I just bought used. Tinted and all, there was no rattle due to tint. Never heard of that one.

:help: And you believed this?? It's one of the stupidest things I heard in my life. He might as well told ya that chickens fly off South for winter. No disrespect to you man, just can't believe the dealer told you that. Either they're so stupid they believed in this themselves, or they disrespected you coming out with this BS trying to get rid of you. For me, it'd be like a slap in the face.
If I were you, I'd go back and slap the MF in his face for disrespecting you.
But that's me :gapteeth:

See if you can get someone to check the wiring in the door and make sure its secured or tied down.

Hmm.. sounds like your having a similar problem to me. I've isolated my rattle to be coming from the rubber lining along the top of the door frame. If the window is depressed all the way into the frame/lining rattling starts up... pretty freaking annoying rattle too loud but just enough to buzz away in your ear ... ahh well.. i resorted to slightly moving the window down. However you can ask your dealer to apply a new lubricant to the inside of the rubber lining that seems to have help my car so far .. i'll givev it a couple of weeks before i'll call it a total fix. apparently honda released a new lubricant/oil .. pfft watever sounds like dealer market speak .. but we shall see
