I hate to keep writing about this problem but it continues to be a persisitant issue and I need some help. I have an 05' TSX non-navi, AT - bought in Dec 04. I added Comptech Rear Sway Bar in April at 3k miles.
In May I began to notice a knocking sound coming from the rear suspension under the rt side of vehicle. It was very noticable going over driveway entrances, when hitting large dips or pott holes in rd and more prevalent when the car went over these at an angle. Also when I make a hard left turn I get a pretty loud shifting and knocking sound coming from the rt rear suspension.
Have been back to the dealer twice to address this. Have had end links replaced and suspension inspected. Have been told that it is because of the larger rear sway bar ( 22MM vs stock 15MM ) and that I will have some knocking and just have to live with this. My car is NOT lowered ( have been told by some that this would fix the problem ? )
Called Comptech today and talked to Shad ( tech guy ) He does not think that I should be having this problem and has not heard of it before. ( neither has anyone else I talk to r/e this including members on this site) He is sending me new bushings and brackets to see if that makes a difference.
I will be taking car back in 2 weeks for oil change and will have this looked at again.
Anyone have any sugggestions or experiencing same problem?

I get the knocking over potholes, and thats about it... Only Difference between our two cars, besides more miles, would be that I brought a little bottle of lubricant, and greased up the strut bar brackets a bit more before I installed mine and Chyllin's... Pot Holes its gonna happen, but shouldn't be as bad as what your experiencing currently

I agree with you about the noise - pott holes will happen but this it is a very distinct loud knocking sound. It's funny I talked to Comptech guy about using grease b/c I had read on the site someone recommended using grease. He did not thinkt that was a good idea. Said it could cause bar to shift in its fittings.

I know this is a stupid question...but, do you have pictures of your sway bar installed? Did you install the bar correctly, right side up? Pictures can help.
I reccommended that some sort of grease be used, lithium grease to be exact. I can assure that the bar is not going to shift in its fittings. The bar is held in place on either end by two bolts. The lithium grease is to prevent chaffing/rubbing between the bar and the comptech-provided rubber bushings...especially in cold weather.

I had a similar problem on the swaybars for my S2000. I'm not sure if the setup is the same, but for that car the endliks were threaded rods screwed into balls that are pushed into cups.The threaded portion of the endlinks goes into the slot/hole in the swaybar, and a nut clamps down.
It turned out that the threaded rod was not tight into the ball, causing enough slack for knocking. I needed an allen key to fix that, and hold the rod while the nut was tightened. Also its best to tighten the endlinks when the car is loaded (on the ground)
Good luck,

I just installed my Comptech RSB and nothing so far. I used quite a bit of grease in the bushings and tighten the bushing plates done to spec. Also made sure the end links were tightened to spec. I can definitely see where the end links might give now as the bars are significantly different, but the new end links that Acura is providing should hold up. My guess is you have a loose end link or loose RSB bushing plates. Either way, grease up the bushings, check all the bolts for tightness, and check the end links again.
I have the same problem, but the noise (also from right rear suspension) is audible only when I brake to a stop, I do not hear any problems when driving over bad roads etc. Is it the brakes or is it the RSB? (I also have the Comptech RSB)

Most people on the other site relate this problem to the rubber bushings.
This was moda-way's response:
First check the end links in the rear to make sure one hasn't broken. Known issue.
Otherwise:
Energy Suspension 9.5126 for the rear (for a Comptech/Progress RSB)
Summitracing has them ENS-9-5126G
If you need stock RSB Part numbers:
Front = 16.5137 (ENS-16-5137G at SummitRacing)
Rear = 16.5138 (ENS-16-5138G at SummitRacing)

The energy susp bushings are fine but didn't solve my noise.
It was a thump or clunk over potholes.
Then replaced ingalls kit with spc, noise is gone now.

This seems like an annoying problem, esp since I plan on getting the Comptech RSB. Is this knocking after installing the 22m RSB pretty common and/or is a something that will definatley happen if I install it? What's the consensus on lubricating the brushings? When you buy the Comptech 22m RSB, do they provide new brushings? Thanks.

why not go for a progress bar that includes poly U bushings instead of the comptech?

I've installed mine a week ago and I've been driving over harsh terrain since then, highway, city, so far I get NO NOISE WHATSOEVER. Nothing at all. It just handles much better. So I think it's just the way ppl install them. If you don't take the extra time to do it right, then you'll get knocking. Plus I got the polyurethane bushings, so that might've helped.

Or the HR sway with special bushing that requires no greasing.. - hard to find.... i have progressive and love it..
