NJ/NY - Saturday Nov 19th "Laser" Tag?

Hey guys... anyone interested in having a little get together in central NJ? I know ForceSHO tried to get a paintball group together, but I missed it :buttkick: Anyway, the place my friends and I go to is called Combat Sports. They use exact replicas of actual military weapons (down to the very weight and range). Typical games include Capture the Flag, Protect the President, etc. If you've ever played Halo or any other 1st person vid game shooter, it's in the same vein. The field consists of 20 acres of wooded forest (there are some barracks, hills, etc.), and usually gets a lot of Army/Marines, ROTC, Reserve units --- it can get pretty "strategic" at times. The last time, we were able to get a group of about 20 guys, so they gave us the entire course to ourselves. The cost is $20-25 depending on how many people are in, and that includes the rentals for the equipment. It's as much fun as paintball, sans the pain (albeit temporary) of getting pelted... although some might argue that getting hit is part of the pleasure :jeffy: Most of the guys in my group are in their mid-20's... but I've seen it all from teenagers all the way up to guys in their 40s and 50s. The more, the merrier. I just figured it might be cool to use this as an excuse to get some board members together. If anyone is interested, drop me a PM, and I'll email you the info... of if there happens to be enough interest, I'll post it in this thread. Some basic info... the course is in Manalapan, NJ on 11/19/05 from 2-4pm (they'll extend it if we have a good group).

Heh... it happens... that's how I missed your thread! From NYC, Manalapan is about 45 mins to an hour (depending on how you drive :nervous: ) south. I'd say it's about 20 minutes east of Great Adventure if that helps...

My wife wasn't too big on paintball either for the same reason... It's too bad you can't make it to Manalapan --- it's a very nice place :grinno:

This will probably be the last weekend they're open, although if this mild weather keeps on, they may keep running with it for awhile. If you happen to get freed up, lemme know...

Doh! Lawrenceville... I used to have a client out there --- it's about 45 mins. away. At this point, it looks like we'll have close to 20 guys (not including any forum blokes) --- no one seems to want to bring their significant other :nervous:

eric... it was suh-weet! everyone that showed up came in full-on fatigues...

i'm serious... that camo really works - lol.

we're trying to convince the owner to run an event in january so we can do it in the snow! sure, it'll be colder than a coal digger's nuts outside, but imagine having everyone dressed in white gear, and all you see is a red laser aiming for you from 500-1000 ft away, eh?

i don't know if anyone else will be interested in it, but i'll try posting again in a couple of months...

my best friend and i called/emailed a few close friends... we were only really expecting about 15, maybe 20 people... then as we got closer to the date, our friends called/emailed other friends... those friends called/emailed their other friends... until... bam! i think the exact count was 47...
