Erin Mills Acura

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a 2005 Acura TSX from the Erin Mills Acura dealer in Mississauga, ON. I dealt with Joe, the User Car Sales Manager and he had helped me through some issues with my trade in which was a 2006 Honda Civic DX-G. I found out that the Civic was in a collision that was not disclosed to me by the Honda Dealer before I bought the car. Joe helped me resolve this issue and directed me accordingly as they were unable to accept my car at full trade-in value with a 7,000k hit on it. They were professional, helped calm me down when I found out the car was in a hit, and in the end kept to their part of the deal. Only issue I had was a crack in the driver side mirror housing, the black plastic. I did not notice this to a few days later so they told me they are not sure if it happened when I had the car or they had it so offered to fix it and charge me 100. Alot of dealers would have just said too bad and charged me the 500 for a new mirror housing. I recommend them and am happy with the way everything was handled.

Cheers!

Joe

Meh **** Erin Mills Acura, I went there for parts one time for my Integra and treated me like shit. A big **** you to the old fart that runs parts dept there. Went across the street to Mississauga Honda and got the exact opposite treatment.

I went to Erin Mills Acura 4 years ago and wanted to buy an RSX-S. I wanted to test drive it and they said no because of insurance purposes because I was under 18. I was like OK.
Funny how I went to Subaru of Mississauga and they gave me the keys to an '05 STI and told me to have fun. I also went to Mississauga Honda and They let me test drive an 08 Si with no problems.

Erin Mills Acura is Ghey IMO. Did they show you on paper that the car had been in a collision? Or did he verbally tell you that?

They showed me a new car proof on my Civic. I spoke to my original Honda dealer in Hamilton who basically said they did their part. They see the collision on the new car proof but the one they did showed no collision even though the collision happened 8 months before the Honda dealer ran their car proof.

Also, got jipped by Mississauga Honda so not a big fan. The young girl at the cashier desk made a mistake and charged me 25.00 instead of 250 to install the Aux jack in my Civic. They called me and I told them I would come in to fix. I went in, they did something with my Visa card and ended up refunding me everything. They called me again and said the girl messed up. I told them to get their act together and I will come back when I have time to. I went back a week later and spoke to the manager. They already called Visa and had them un-mask my card number on their receipt which I never knew a merchant can do. They charged me the original 25.00 and the 250.00 so now they had to refund me 25.00. More disturbing is I never signed the extra charged and return slips that they were processing without my permission on my card. I told them I would come in to process this. Oh well. Never going back lol

If you are under 18 I can see a dealer being a bit more cautious with letting take out a vehicle, as most 17 year olds don't have the funding to get their own vehicle unless your parents are with you. I had the same situation with a GM, I know YUKK!!!!, dealer in Hamilton. I went in at 17 and bought my first car, a souped up Buick Regal GS with cash in hand and the dealer wanted nothing to do with me unless my parents were there. You would think cash is cash but I guess their insurance was an issue as well.

I know the guy that runs the service/parts department now as I was introduced to him when I picked up my vehicle as they had to look into a rattle/humming noise for me. I think his name was Dan? or something lol He seemed like a decent guy. Anyways anyone else have any experiences at Erin Mills? I work in the area and will end up needing a service centre to get my oil changes done when it is time

Thanks guys!

Joe

I test drove a used TSX at Erin Mills Acura last year. They were really cool about it. I called ahead to make sure the car wasn't sold yet. When I got there, the guy handed me the key and said "if you get lost, just use the navi." I was so surprised he didn't come with me. I don't think he even asked me for my driver's license.

Never went to Erin Mills, but I will never buy a car from Sisley Honda. I went in with a couple of friends, one was interested in purchasing a new Civic Si. No associate went up to help us, finally after 15 minutes my friend goes up to one associate and ask some questions and ultimately asks to test drive one of the Civic Si's. The associate starts to laugh and says "Nooooo, you can not test drive it. When people come in, they know what a Civic Si is and they will buy it without test driving it." We looked at each other and say "What??" We then told him, there are a couple of cars competing with the Civic Si in this category, such as the Mazdaspeed 3 so how will we know how the drive compares to? Again he responds with "It's a Civic Si, people come in and know they want it, they don't need to drive it."

It's gotta be the worst customer service experience, to not even let you test drive the car when you wanna buy it.

^ If that happened to me, I would've asked for the manager. It's true that some people decide they want a car even before they've driven it, but everyone still test drives. They'd be a fool not to.

I would have asked for the manager too. That is crazy, I think sometimes they judge on appearance. Well, when I went to buy my TSX I was wearing AE jeans with tears in them as its the style and an Aeropostale shirt. I look pretty young as I am only 26 and they did not judge me at all. I left a BMW dealer before that judged me when I walked in. My friend has also left an Audi dealer when he drove up they didn't see what he was driving until he was leaving. He asked the girl sales person to speak to someone about the A4 convertible and she said you do realize how much that is right? He said excuse me? He was wearing track pants. Off he went in his other car, a brand new E series Benz. He said to her, I guess I will go back to the benz dealer as apparently your cars are too cheap. lol Their loss

Think I know that Silver 2005 !! I was looking at it a couple of months ago but went with a 2006 that I bought a month ago at Erin Mills.
So, Sales dept excellent. Dealt with Ian and Joe. When I test drove the car I noticed some issues with noise from the transmission and clutch pedal sqeaking. When I picked up the car on a Friday, Advisor said they found no problems. Problems was still there.Took it back on Monday and talked to Joe. He had a tech come out with me and drive the car. Master clutch cylinder and release bearing replaced to fix. Then had steering wheel shake on highway speeds . Took back again Joe had service wheels balanced at no cost. A week later service light came on. Oil was at 15%. Complained that this should have been changed before I bought the car. Advisor said this was not part of a safety inspection. Do what !!. Joe had oil change done N/C.
I now have another issue which may not be as straight forward. Getting Engine vibration coming through the steering wheel and pedals. Took it to Erin but the Advisor said it's 'normal for the car and I have to get use to it " WTF.He sat in the car but didn't test drive it . I took it to another dealer. They recognise the problem ( test drove car ) and suspect it may be from the transmission work that was done and because Erin did the work under warranty they cannot touch it thus have to take it back to Erin. Talked to the service manager at Erin yesterday and car goes back in this coming Monday. I fearing their going to say there's no problem. I will let you know what happens.
So right now all I can say at Erin Mills- Sales excellent, but there's only so much they can do. Service, i don't feel too impressed with the Advisors there. They seem reluctant to do warranty work which I don't understand as I took out the 160K extended warranty so.....

Should say also I too traded in my 1998 Acura CL at Erin where Joe said it had been in accident.
I`d bought it seven years ago from Roadsport Honda. I know I asked if there was any accidents, they said no. Being the trade in was low he made no changes.
I think we were more trusting with dealerships back then. Not anymore !!
