Hey all, just got an 08 tsx and was just looking to add an intake. I really want the simplest install and would rather not lose any torque, but it seems most intakes for the tsx do. I was looking at the comptech but not sure on the install, how easy is it to do and what is involved? Also, what are some websites that sell parts for the tsx, I was looking at that mugen grille which looks awesome but can't seem to find a site.thanks.

The Comptech icebox install is not that bad. You keep the bottom half of the stock air box and remove the resonator below. The top part of the air box is larger and there is a velocity tube to connect to the bottom of the airbox. This involves removing the bumper cover. It looks like major work but it's not that bad if you take your time and follow instructions.

I never modded anything in my life and I did this as my second mod. My first mod was converting fogs to HID.

For the mugen grill, there's a group buy ending soon. You might want to join in.

for the intake, would there be a noticeable loss with just a sri, I don't want to remove the bumper and really want the sound and additional power.
No noticeable low end loss with the icebox. Very quiet, almost like stock until you WOT. I hear that the SRI are much louder.

is there any gain with the drop in? thanks for the suggestions.
I'm not sure what kind of gains you get with the K&N. I'm sure their website will let you know. BTW I also have a K&N with my icebox. It took a little modification to seal it up tight.

I recently had the SRI setup and the installation was pretty easy... (first time modding anything) but the CAI... I know what you're thinking about losing low end power, etc... but it just feels so much more free... and there is a noticeable gain... The SRI makes it alittle peppy at low rpms but once it hits around 4k rpms it just goes downhill from there... SRI is louder than CAI.... but i prefer CAI with the low hum until 5k rpms... Just my opinion though..
