Do you have a police radar detector?
As some of you may or may not know, I got a speeding ticket about half a year ago (which still hasn't even came in the mail yet!) and I havn't speed ever since. Well theres the occasional 75-80 on the diamond lane (65 limit) but thats only if I'm in between cars going with the flow.
I'd like to see if its worth the $$$ to get a jammer just for precaution, I really don't want and cant afford to get another ticket. I don't really speed anymore but I suppose it would give me extra warning to slow down..
Polls is pretty much yes/no, if its yes can you post what radar you have and if you are satisfied with it? False alarms? Thanks
If I am to get one, I will be doing the stealth install so that you can't see the radar on the windshield, heard cops will 100% give you a ticket if they see that thing there

I recently bought the Escort Passport 8500 X50 blue. I got a speeding ticket a while back while making a left turn....the pig decided to not to go after the speeding Chevy Tahoe and Mazda6, they went 21mph over the limit. He decided to go after me and accused me that I drove 21mph over. I wasn't even going that fast, let alone I was already stopped at a light. He even admit to me he wanted to go after the Mazda or the SUV, but he didn't even bother since he was beside me making a left turn too. I didn't even bother with court and just paid a lawyer. These ass holes always think they win and its no contest, fight it and lose with the municipality. If only I had a video camera mounted in my TSX I could have recorded this as evidence.
As for the radar detector. I bought the Passport to make me safer and keep those mobile revenue collectors off my ass, and it works well. Every once and a while a false alarm here and there, but you get used to where those false signals come from and learn how to recognize what is a pig and what is not. It has saved me many times. One night back in September 2007, I was driving on a road and the detector detects a Ka band and starts beeping, about a mile down the road the pig is hiding behind the tree in his Impala! It was pitchblack and no way to see him hiding there with out the radar detector.
Around here, a lot of municipalities use their LEOs as a tool to collect revenue. They would setup speed traps and have others waiting to collect at the other end. Even the speed limit on some roads can go from 50 to 35 and most people don't even know it. Its all about revenue and not about safety. Its sad!
Here is a pic I did while cruising for pigs over the summer. I was driving around and noticed a Ka band and decided to turn into a subdivision and the signal soared through the roof!!! Then I see him sitting on the left on someone's drive way running radar, I heard its common for people to be driving 5mph or more over the 20mph posted limit in that subdivision.
