2004-2005-2006-2007 Tsx
Hi TSXers,
i've been reading this forum for the past couple of weeks because i'm planning on getting a tsx. I was wondering if people can give me suggestions because it seems the tsx doesn't depreciate much and i'm having trouble deciding whether i should get a used one or a new one. I'd like to know the key differences between the 2004-2007 tsx.
I'm in a bit of a dilemma because i'm planning to get an auto tsx and the 2004 auto tsx doesn't come wif nagivation while the 2005 nagivation tsx doesn't have the hondata reflash. Which is why i am kinda of deciding if i should get a 2006 or 2007 tsx, but i would rather not spend so much money for pretty much the same thing.
I've also been looking at some of the bodykits, coilovers, navigation to tv modules, and i was wondering if you guys had the option, would u guys pick a 2004 auto(non navi), 2005 auto, 2005 auto(navi), or a 2006 auto?(also considering the available mods for the respective model of course) ALso, do you guys have special hook ups so that i can somehow get a tsx for less?(i live in vancouver, bc btw) I know that since the 2007 tsx is coming out in dec, whatever is left of the 2006 tsx will be sold for less.
So i pretty much want to know the difference between the 2004-2005-2006-2007 tsx, ome suggestions on which model i should get and their compatibilities wif the mods. (like which mods are available), and if you guys have any hookups for used or new tsxs.
Thanks
BERNY

I would try and get an 06TSX that the dealers need to unload before the 07's roll in. The 06's have had alot of small changes, which you can read about at acuranews.com, click on "TSX" on the right, then on the bottom, click "archive", then select the year 2006 and you can read about what has been upgraded from the previous two years models.

Not only that, but also hondata. Really, it's the best of all worlds (except the pocketbook).
Whatever you do, don't get the 05 auto if you're definitely planning for hondata. It'll be too much of a pain in the ass. 06 has bluetooth capabilities for both navi and nonnavi.
I'd say wait until the end of this month to secure the deal on the 06 tsxes.
Mods are as followed:
POWER
Hondata
Intake (Injen CAI/Compect Icebox/Fujita)
Headers (no idea on brands)
Exhaust (too many varieties. GreddyM is an example)
Remove weight
Comptech SuperCharger
SUSPENSION
Coilovers (Teins/H&R/A-spec)
Rear Sway Bars (Comptech/Progress/Neuspeed)
Front Strut Bars (Neuspeed is the only one I know of, I think)
BODY
Euro body/lip
JDM body/lip
Mugen body/lip
Kenstyle body
I believe the bumpers can be swapped between the years, but the lips are years specific, as in 04/05 or 06. At least the front lips are different, the sides and back might be the same.
ENTERTAINMENT
Navi2go for hooking up the dvd player to the navi screen. (personally, I think it's easier/cheaper to get a flipout dvd since those cost can be had for $300-400 and you have two screens. If you go navi2go, you have to pay $300-400 for it as well and only get one screen.)
If it's not an 06, you'll need to get the SNHOND or something to get the audio hooked up with the car.
Your imagination (Xbox/whatever)

If I remember correctly, the 2006 TSX has the heaviest base weight out of all the TSX models. Of course, it has the highest engine output as well, which offsets the weight.
Obviously, the 2006 also has the highest feature set, which makes it a better bargain overall.

The 04 model does come with navi...unless the one you're looking at doesn't... From all the used 04 prices that I've seen...you're gonna pay anywhere from 19-22k for a used one with roughly 40k miles...but that was around the Chicagoland area... Pay a little more and you'll get a brand new 06 with alot more features

thanx for all the tips guys
and if i'm not mistaken, the 2004 doesn't come with navi in canada...><
i'm gonna wait till the 07 comes out then bargin for the 06, and if i don't get a good deal, i'll just go for a 04 auto
i looked at some of the flip out dvds, why does everyone install it so low? the shifter seems to block the view of the screen... i think the nav-to-tv module will be more suited for me, and how do u change from nav to tv? is there a special button that switches from navi to dvd? say ur watching a dvd or listening to a song on ur dvd, then u switch to navi, will the song still be playing while u are on the navi screen?
