Arrow Hockey Thread

This thread is overdue, so let's finally start talking some hockey (I made this a sticky).

I'll start off by saying, my Thrashers are finally starting to play well and if they ever get their goalie situation under control they will be a force to reckon with!

I agree - this thread is overdue, like a Cup in Philadelphia

What does everyone think of the "new NHL"? I like the rule changes, but the number of questionable penalties has been annoying. I say this despite the fact that the Flyers are tearing it up on the power play so far.

Another point for discussion - it should be illegal to broadcast hockey games in non-high definition

I like the new rule changes and the higher scoring they have created. Eventhough, my goalies are suffering from them on my fanatasy team.

LOL He's so pretty when he dives like that.

The Thrashers are getting trashed by Toronto tonight. Damn goalie situation is killing us again.

I also think this should get its due attention: Best Hockey City - Philadelphia

http://www.sportingnews.com/features...05/bestof.html

They have Philly for best college bball too, and while I think its great here, I'd give the nod to the Chapel Hill/Durham NC area, having lived in both places. Those fans live for college bball. Philadelphians have pro teams.

Over all I am really liking the new rules! It has opened up the game quite a bit, and got rid of that damn neutral zone trap.
The goalie equipment was WAY out of hand, so that was a no brainer.
I don't think that anyone is liking the new schedule, with playing everyone in your division 8 times. It sucks especially if your a season ticket holder, only to see the same team's night in, and night out. But I am sure they'll sort that out next season (or so I hope).
All in all I can't even begin to say how happy I am that hockey is back!

Speaking of Crosby, is anyone else collecting his rookie card's?
We bought two boxes of Upper Deck (just came out), and we were lucky enough to get two #201's (Sidney's offical rookie card). Right now they are selling for around $150, so needless to say, they payed for both boxes and then some

Joker - who wants at least 10 Crosby rookies for his collection

No no no no..
There are several on eBay, but like I said, you'll pay up to $150 per
The best way to get one is to buy a box (at a card shop near you). Look for Upper Deck 05/06, and pay no more than $85
I have also seen them going for over $100 per box, due to the #201 card, so becareful. If you can't find them by you, e-mail me
