S T A F F     S T R U C T U R E

In an effort to properly manage our continuously growing board (TSXClub.com) and to allow for our Moderating Team growth, our forum Staff roles now follow a set structure. This also allows our members to have an easier understanding of who does what within our Team. The ultimate goal is also to strengthen our Team to provide more benefits and better services to our members.

Moderation of our board is divided into subsections (or 'domains') managed separately by different members of the Team. For the most part, these 'domains' correspond to sections of our board, such as Regional, Entertainment, Performance, etc., but they may include additional tasks. Each domain is 'owned' by one Chief SuperModerator. There is only one Chief SuperModerator for each domain, and everything that transpires in sections included in that domain is ultimately under control of the Chief SuperModerator of that domain.

This structure implements a ranking system with insignia that is easily distinguishable and easy to refer to by our members. There are 8 ranks (0 - 7), with '0' indicating the highest:

Each member of our Moderating Team also has in his user title the description of the domain or forum that he is assigned to. If any forum member needs moderator's assitance, they can now easily find who is in charge of the section where they require assistance, and contact them directly.

The title Auxiliary is not a description of a rank, but of participation. If a valuable member of our Moderating Team cannot participate full-time, thus has only limited responsibilities, the description “Auxiliary” is added to his title, which may be to any of the above ranks.

The status title of retired Staff member includes the latin word Emeritus (feminine: Emerita) which indicates member's honorable discharge from his former role.

U S E R     T I T L E S

1) All forum members are entitled to customize their User Titles. In the unlikely event your individual permission doesn't allow to change your user title, please contact one of the administrators to update that option for you.

2) Any type of profanity or profanity-suggestive content in the custom user title field is strictly prohibited. Non-compliance with this rule will result in permanent disabling of member's custom user title and, potentially, additional consequences.

3) Any use by Registered or Premium members of any of the above Staff reserved user titles, any combination mimicking those titles, 'Forum Vendor', 'Black Listed +/- Banned' and any other user titles made up to create forum structure confusion is prohibited. Non-compliance with this rule will result in permanent disabling of member's custom user title.

Yep, its a great system. It also helps members weed out official vendors from the non-official vendors.

The icons for stuff structure (referred to as "insignia") is just a mix of my imagination with my tendency for analytical processing. When making them, I put more emphasis on indicating gradual progression than on symbolism itself. The symbolism was not thought out as well as I'd expect if I set myself for that goal, which would take considerably more time and effort. However, obviously these are symbols, so they must mean something. Different perception of people may interpret them differently. Here's a rough explanation as I perceive them:

Apprentice Mod: implies motion in progress, "spin of wheel after shifting to a higher gear" of given responsibility. Incomplete shape also symbolizes the trial period.

Petty Moderator: complete symmetrical shape indicates completing the trial period. It implies receiving the complementing part of the symbol as an indication of permanent status in the team.

Moderator: 2 claws (or hooks) implying a firm grip within the team.

Petty SuperModerator: 4 claws (hooks) implying a full grip within the team. The symmetrical position of all complementing claws also indicates full moderating powers.

SuperModerator, Chief SuperMod & Admin: the higher number of, and the larger the rings, implies more unity responsibilities, and by this more leadership and management roles.

The insignia are now mounted on shields (or badges). The shields indicate past or present inclusion in the forum Staff. All shields display white stripes:
3 stripes - admins
2 stripes - operation mods (SuperMods)
1 stripe - forum mods

The silver shield color for active Staff members symbolizes objectivity in judgement, modesty, security and reliability. One exception is forum owner, who's shield is gold. It is a color of royalty, and it implies the ultimate power. The retired staff member's shield is green, implying eternal life and good luck.

The active Staff members usernames are assigned a range or red color, emphasizing the importance over all other user groups. The insignia use the matching colors. The light red is staff members with limited (delegated) moderating powers. The full bright red is for the ultimate moderators (SuperMods). The dark red implies maroon or burgundy, which historically were used for royalty symbolism, and as such indicates higher power. This is reserved for admins.

The Premium Club members have the highest message box of all members except for forum vendors and staff (past and present). Making it larger would necessitate dedicating more storage space and would lessen the benefits available to our vendors and our staff. The Premium Club still has a major improvement over the amount of messages the regular users can hold.
