Moderating Team Candidate Sign-In
In par with our constantly growing club, our Moderating Team requires periodical growth, as well. So far we've been relying on our own observations, but to eliminate unnecessary guesswork we'd like to setup a place where people who are interested in joining our team can identify themselves. This way we'd have an easier way to choose the most fitting candidates from a pool of only those that are willing to contribute.
If you are one of those select individuals who would like to contribute back to our community by using your free time for moderation and otherwise help our members, please make a post here. In your post, please only identify:
1. The domain you'd be interested in moderating.
Choose from:
-General
-Performance
-Gallery
-Regional
-Marketplace
-Entertainment
2. What skills/experiences/personal characteristics that you posses may benefit our members or your moderation on this board.
Please note that signing into this thread does not guarantee you will be selected for the position, but it will keep you in the pool of candidates we will observe and make decision on if qualified to join our staff. Just because we may not contact someone, doesn't mean we don't see him as qualified, but we may not need any more help at the particular time, or we may want to observe his behavior for longer.
Also, please do not regard this opportunity as a "status upgrade". This is a voluntary position that requires fair judgement, open mind, and many times a certain amount of sacrifice on your part (time, opinion, etc.).
If selected, however, you will be on-board an elite team of people who really care and can show for it. You'll have an opportunity to "make a change", and you'll get an exceptional experience which you can apply towards your future endeavours.
===============================================
This thread is only for candidate submissions. Please do not post anything else. All irrelevant posts will be removed from this thread.

Performance
I was a Porsche Race Car Tech for over a year. Worked on Porsche, BMW, Audi race cars in our shop, as well as on a World Challenge GT team and a Grand Am Rolex GT team. For those teams i was the electrical engineer, and did data acquisitions with the Motec system. I have extensive information on suspension setups for daily driving and for track use, from camber/caster/toe adjustments to different spring rates, coilover systems, and brakes. Ive been building my own cars for 9 years, including four hondas. My hatch had did three different motor swaps in, and have tracked my cars before. im well known in my local tsx community, have been a member of the forum for almost a year, and im able to spend about 6 hours a day on the web because of my current job. im very open to everyone's opinions and i feel that i could help serve the tsx community by becomimg a moderator.

I wouldn't mind helping out with the marketplace. I noticed that it takes quite some time for listings to be approved and such. As well as there being a lot of dead listings that people keep digging. Well as far as number 2 criteria, I think I keep emotion and work separate. I don't really hold grudges, I'm persistent, I usually finish what I started, and I always do my best (as cliche as that may sound). I think of myself as being considerate and open to ideas and such.
I guess, I could do the gallery as well.

 Regional Meet Leader DC Metro
Location: Rockville, Maryland
|
1. I would like to be a candidate for the Regional moderator position, specifically in the DC metro region if possible.
2. Initially when I became a member on tsxclub, I wasn't too comfortable posting in the general threads so I posted on the dc region's thread, but it often took days for members to reply. To help get the dialogue going, I helped start the DC off topic section as a thread to help unite the DC area members and get to know each other. I have some ideas that I'd also like to implement in the DC region section, such as a Local classified section, list of recommended shops and dealers, and a local job classified section (given the current job market, I think any open positions that get posted can potentially hlep a member, or a member's friend or family). I check tsxclub on a daily basis and would help keep the region's threads spam free, fair, create a comfortable posting environment, and keep the peace between members.

1. Entertainment
2. I've been a car enthusiast for as long as I can remember and have worked on my 1967 mustang to my TSX to helicopters. I'm well traveled and have a wide array of experience, ranging from cars, music, culture, movies, sports. I can objective when needed and try not to impose my views on anybody and I'm pretty accepting of others peoples views.
3. I practically live on this site.

1. Gallery
2. I have been a moderator on 2 separate honda/acura forums. I am very helpful to anybody that needs the help and I would never "down" a person for their own personal style and also what they spend their money on. My post count is low but that does not reflect the amount of time I spend on this forum. If I do become a moderator, I would do my job and reply significantly more and help keep the forums safe and the way they should be. I love this forum and I believe it greatly surpasses any other TSX forum.

I was talking to Jasper one day to congratulate him on his position and he told me that even I can apply.
1.I am interested in moderating :
- Engine
- Suspension
- Wheels/Alignment
- Aerodynamics
- Gallery
- Western Canada forum
2. I want to volunteer on this forum because I want to make a contribution to something that I believe has become part of my life as well as hold an important place in my heart. I saw how this forum has mature and grew along with me over the last four years and I really want to help it become something even bigger, and larger. I believe I have become a mature individual that holds neutral opinions so I would not bash or “flame” any forum member like before. I believe I can handle things and opinions with calm minds and right choices. I want to volunteer and gain experiences from moderating an online forum as it can become a valuable asset towards my future. I have done a vast amount of research over the last four years on JDM/USDM/EDM parts for the TSX which I believe is a beneficial wealth of information for all the forum members, hence I believe I can greatly contribute in the engine, suspension, wheels, and even the Aerodynamics forum. I have wanted to create many “sticky threads” for new forum members to eliminate their need to search but I was never given the power to do so. In the Gallery forum, I can help rearrange mislead threads to help keep the forum clean. As for Western Canada forum Moderator, I know Kanon has been very busy lately, so I would not mind helping him out as I know the old forum members as well as the new. Hopefully I can help them connect and host more and better meets along with our regional leader icemicko. Since TSXclub has given me so much all these years, I just want to contribute back to the forum. In addition, since I am studying in the field of Marketing, I hope my innovative ideas can generate more income for the site so we can grow into bigger forums like others.
Sincerely,
Benson

I'd like to help mod in:
Classified
or
DC Metro Region with PDPGPS
I think I could be a great help as a mod due to the fact that I spend a ridiculous number of hours on the forums, and I can mod at various times during the day, and I have 2 hours during school to be online and I have most of the day after school starting around 3, in addition to my desk job where I can access the computer. I have learned a vast amount of information here and would like to be able to organize the threads so that other people can learn and access the information faster than I could, also I would like to limit the number of repetitive threads with a sticky with links to the various repeated topics. In the classifieds, I would take the time to close the threads that would be deemed no longer valid as the person has not logged in for a long period of time ie: 6 months, or the thread goes for an extended period without a reply from the op. I am very skilled using the vBulletin formatting and am well learned on the rules of this forum, and I also would just like to help

1. I would be interested in..
- Aerodynamics
-Marketplace
-Gallery
-NY Region.
2. I always loved modifying cars and very passionate about cars. I attend Lincoln Technical Institute and im very familiar in the automotive industry. I would like to be a mod for Aerodynamics because im very familiar with alot of our car parts and would give great advice to new members and also help them with problems. I also am very familiar with USDM/EDM/JDM parts and also have a unique taste. As for the Marketplace would also be great because I live in there to see what TSX parts is for sale .Also i would make sure that all the transactions is legit and after every transaction I would send out links for an iTrader to clarify that every transaction is LEGIT. I would Gallery would also be a good spot because I love to see other members cars and what direction their heading into. As for the NY Area i would def like to take part of that just because I live in New york and i would definitly love to gather TSX enthusiast and set things together.
3. I practically live on this site as well
-Alex
Also If i cant get threw with any spots I would love to accompany someone and give them a hand in any section just for some extra help.

1) General and Engine/transmission* section.
2) I am with my 2nd Honda. I spent time researching and experimenting with my cars, especially TSX. When it comes to modifying, I mainly care about the "go" part rather than suspension and other things. I have studied specs of our engines and transmissions and even though I turned my financial priorities away from modding my car a few months ago, I would be glad to share my knowledge and skills with those who seek it.

1) 1st gen image gallery
2) I don't think it takes a whole lot of experience to moderate an image gallery. I would just like to help out by making the TOTM threads stickied and locking threads that get out of hand (like the battle that is raging on now in one thread). I am on the site quite often, so I think I could keep things clean in the gallery.

I've been a moderator or two other automotive forums (bnzsport.com, club202.com) and am able to objective when needed, open-minded, professional and courteous to other members. I have been a member of this forum even before I had gotten the TSX, and would like to think that I am able to contribute enthusiastically in a positive and educated manner.
I respectfully request that you keep me in consideration if there is an available position in the future.
